-   most religions approve on the message that human beings were sent down to live on earth in accordance with nature and not to live destroying it. But with evolution and development, humans are no longer living without destroying nature. Their complicated lives became so detrimental to environment.

-   With the need to increase awareness about the issue facing environment , protecting it became the main mission and cause for most communities in the world.  Therefore, volunteering embracing this cause, which is not only a valuable and worthy work, is a necessity dictated for us by the environmental threats.

-   One of the prominent environmental foundations in Morocco is the Mohammed VI Foundation for Protecting the Environment. This foundation was established by the king of Morocco Mohammed VI in 2001 and nominated his sister Hasna president to this foundation. The foundation's mission and area of work can be summed up in the four programs that it decided to implement since it joined the Foundation of Environmental Education. These programs are: 1- the Blue Banner for Beaches 2- Ecological Schools for Elementary institutions 3- Youth Journalists for Environment 4- Green Key for hotel institutions. Mohammed VI Foundation for Protecting the Environment is the first Islamic, Arabic country to join the Foundation for Environmental Education and the first to tackle environmental issues through many ways, mainly education.

-   One another organization which is most concerned with environment and which innovative ingenuity plays a very important role in its environmental projects is Dar Si Hmad Association for Development, Education and Culture. Dar Si Hmad was established in 2010 and is a non-governmental and non-profit organization whose projects and programs are mostly held in Agadir, Ifni and Ait Baamran which are located in the Southwest region of Morocco. Water School is an educational project that bring children "to attend three rural schools around the concept of water, using both play and learning to fulfil its mission of educating and teaching children about larger societal and natural realities". (Dar Si Hmad Annual Report, 2014, p.22). Fog Harvesting is one of Dar Si Hmad's flagship project. Fog Harvesting is a project where innovative ideas and scientific ingenuity combine. It tackles the perpetual state of water anxiety most populations in the Southwest Morocco suffer from. It does so by building, as the name suggests, fog collectors that consist of nets and pipes descending from 1225 meters. Fog Harvesting does not only provide water transferred from fog, but it also save time and effort.  Dar Si Hmad does also provide Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) workshops for women and children. The workshops "illustrate water-cycles, fog-harvesting technology, the importance of learning and adapting clean habits to stay healthy". The WASH sessions also "tackle several activities such as: the use of glitter to explain microbe transfer, educational film on cholera, water treatment using sand, water pollution and how to avoid it, disease transfer through water and steps of prevention". (Dar Si Hmad Annual Report, 2014, p.24).

Youness, thanks for introducing us about environmental organizations in Morocco! While I was reading your report, water school grabbed my mind. It looks very interesting, like parts about children attending three schools to learn about water, and how they play and learn through the program. Thanks again for sharing, and have a great day!
