There are many organizations that are active in protecting the environment in Algeria. Below, there is an example of : government-affiliated organization and international and local NGO.

The National Conservatory of Environment Training:

The national conservatory of environment training (CNFE) is a public institution with  industrial and commercial nature under the Ministry of Environment. CNFE's missions are: training, awareness and environmental education towards all public and private socio-economic actors and attendants to enforce law or monitor fragile spaces.

The Environment Houses are attached as annexes to CNFE ensuring their management, they are responsible for the implementation of environmental policy and guidelines and tasks promoted by the CNFE at the local level and they reunite social and cultural ties around environmental concerns of any kind, they regularly organize different events for this purpose (training, exhibitions, conferences, events, ...).

MED R20 :

The R20 is a non-governmental organization, founded in 2010 by several international personalities including Arnold Schwarzenegger with the support of the United Nations. The R20 is connected to over 560 sub-national governments throughout the world.

The pole for the Mediterranean (MED R20) was installed in Oran, Algeria, following a partnership agreement between the R20 and the Ministry of Environment signed in June 25, 2013 in Algiers. It operates in three areas: management and waste recycling, energy efficiency and renewable energy and its mission is to initiate and implement demonstration projects with low emissions of greenhouse gases at Oran as a pilot region for the development of a green economy.

Assirem Gouraya Association "Earth Team" :

Assirem Gouraya association is for Environmental protection  project, biodiversity and ecosystem restoration. It is also committed to effectively mobilize the skills and promote volunteer help in the fight against damage caused to nature (deforestation, fires, misuse of natural environments, uncontrolled natural resources ...) and it is still involved to support sustainable development initiatives at local and national level through studies and thoughtful actions.
