Hello green family

I have just discovered that we have only few organisations and campaigns organised in Cameroon despite being one of the largest reserve in central Africa. Nevertheless, i found some interesting ones

      I.  Organisations

       Green Cameroon

Environmental Protection Green Cameroon is a small NGO in Buea that works towards environmental protection. It was founded in 2003 by a group of young Cameroonians who felt concerned about the level of environmental degradation and lack of interest and awareness on environmental issues that prevailed at the level of the population of Cameroon.

The missions are:

       i.To conserve Cameroon?s rich biodiversity by working on practical solutions to solve nature conservation problems.

       ii.To pay close attention to sustainable development, rural community livelihood and contemporary environmental issues.

NB: Green Cameroon wins the Energy Globe Award for Sustainability 2012

       Cameroon environmental watch (cew)

Cameroon Environmental Watch (CEW), a technical partner of World Resource Institute (WRI) within the Global Forest Watch Program is a Non-Governmental0 Organisation (NGO) based in Cameroon, founded on the 16th of January 1997 and, it focuses

       i. On environmental problems related to critical situations and critical areas.

    ii. On a better application and enforcement of norms in forest management and climatic prediction in Africa in general and Cameroon in particular.

   II.   Campaign

      Plastic waste recycling campaign

In his opening remarks, the director general of Red-Plast affirmed that, the «Eco Collect» aims at removing plastic waste in the various cities in Cameroon. Yet, there is need for sensitization.
