unsanitary in school |
---|
Most secondary schools in some countries and cities are experiencing enormous environmental problems. Those who are talked about as easily as possible are those related to hygiene and sanitation which can be true dangers not only for students but also for their parents and their close relations.
Generally, almost all secondary schools offer their entrances a clean welcoming and attractive appearance but a simple visit of the school space makes it possible to realize the existence of piles of refuse whose waste typology can only be done with rested head. These piles of waste are hidden most of the time in corners of the course of establishment and especially in the backyards of the classroom. The undersides of the stairs are not spared. Few minutes after the recreation time allow to appreciate the consciousness of the learners with regard to hygiene and sanitation. Plastic bags and various food packages are scattered throughout the course of the establishment. For example, the presence of an abandoned well in a school in Porto Novo in Benin that served as garbage dumps and left the immediate environment in a state of unhealthiness was found in secondary establishment in the square, since only filled, students were accustomed to this dump, have difficulty in avoiding them. Also, a little dust are leading or calling to the closing of some schools or the suspension of courses in schools like Felix-Leclerc in France. The other form of unsanitary is that which develops inside classrooms. It is not uncommon to note that the pigeonholes in the course furniture constitute micro dumps of peanut shells skins of banana and oranges various packaging such as : biscuits, candy, yogurt etc When it comes to sweeping classrooms, sweepers do not always realize the existence of waste in traps which gives rise to unusual odors inside the classrooms .Many secondary schools in city have garbage cans in their courtyards. But few have lids. This state of affairs means that after the regular cleaning of the classrooms and the course of the establishment and the deposit of garbage in the containers, plastic bags and many other packages such as papers are dispersed again in the course by gusts of wind. To summarize, all this non sanitation in schools can become a very big calamity in our societies and we parents ,brothers ,sisters or close relations of students have to involve and educate them to have adequate behaviors in order to keep clean their classrooms and schools environment. We must also motivate them to join environmental organizations and programs as Tunza Eco generation. We must also sensitize teachers who use to smoke in classes and school ground to reduce or delete the smoking in these places to permit us avoiding the damages of Tobacco in children.

Thanks for sharing, Ouro! After reading your article, I thought it is necessary to teach children how to keep their environment clean, in addition to academic stuff. Teachers and the government should also put strong regulation at keeping school sanitation. Have a great day today : )

I agree to some extent that surrounding and what you experience in school will affect your overall attitude, as students spend so much of their time there and adjust their perspective accordingly to their surroundings. Thanks for posting

Ouro.... I believe these young generations should be taught about environment and home sanitation when they are young so that they will be in a habit of performing it in future....As a result schools and our teachers play a vital role ....have a good day:)

You are right. Schools lay the foundation for students so the best environmental practices should be taught and practised in school. Thanks for sharing.

Good Point. Students spend most of their times in school. It is where they build their character that will last after graduating. If they learned about the environment at a young age, taking care of it will be part of their lives.
