On 13th August, 2013, Tuesday, for the preparation of radio program focused on youth, environment and community development,  one day training on radio journalism was organized by Guthi at Guthi?s hall, Tripureshwor, Kathmandu.

Pramila Manandhar from Radio Sagarmatha, a community radio contributed her valuable time as facilitator. She started the program by saying: ?there is possibility everywhere.? It?s true, if someone has hope, faith and positive thinking, nothing is impossible. On the way while sharing on radio programs, Manandhar also informed to be very clear about the target audience, content, language and the way of presentation. Regarding the language used in radio journalism she said that it should be simple and easy to understand, no jargons should be included and the pace should be according to the audience. She also stated that every second is very important while you present and even your breathing pauses should be very pleasant to the audience. As we all love personalized service, so radio should make a person feel attached and only talking with one person. For example the presenter should say listener instead of listeners. She also stated that the scope of radio is very wide than other mass medias.

As a whole, the program was very interactive and experienced based. It was an interesting program and the participants really enjoyed. One of the participants and member of Nepali Youth at Guthi (NYG),  Pratap Maharjan said, "It was very interesting to know that developing a radio program is similar to research, for which, clarity of concept, quality of content and confidence matters a lot."Also according to another member of NYG Prakriti Khanal, "I am now confident about developing the content of radio, it was very helpful. The trainer shared the format of the radio program this made participants clear about the fundamental issues about radio program. The important learning was the hard work we do and the content we collect and present at last this all shows our confidence.

Altogether 10 members participated in the program. The program ended thanking Pramila Manadhar for her time and effort to make participants clear about the development of radio program.

Interesting, radio programs has more extensive scope. For example in our country, majority of the people in provinces own radios. It's good way to inform them through the use of local language too :). kudos
