This program framed the path on how organic agriculture and farmers can be promoted in days to come? Source person from Regional Agriculture Directorate, Regional Plant Protection Laboratory and DADO Kaski presented on "Organic Agriculture, What, Why and How? ", "Status, Scope and Challenges of Organic Agriculture in Kaski District" and "Organic Manure and Bio-pesticide for organic agriculture".
Interpretations of objective of program were done by Senior Agriculture Development Officer (SADO) of DADO. The main objective of the program was to solve challenges faced by farmers bring them together on common ground along with concerned stakeholders. Also it focused on increasing organic farmers and production. Along with the presentations by guest, farmers put forward the problem faced by them and panelist tried for the solution to the problems and how Kaski can be made independent in Organic production. As a remembrance, Pokhara is famous tourist spot in World where people love to eat organic and healthy foods. Also, program ended with a decision to call out more number of farmers to form farmer group and unite all stakeholders and activities doe by different national and international organizations. The program was coordinated by Stuti Acharya and emceed by myself. On the end note, I see this program was an unique one and I respect efforts of everyone to make this program successful one with lots of discussion and ideas. Really, Organic Group under DADO will sure bring positive impacts in organic agriculture production of Pokhara and Kaski Districts as a whole.

Organic farming - the way of life

Thank you for sharing, Sujan. Organic farming is definitely one of the stepping stones to achieving sustainable agriculture. In my opinion, while governments focus on tackling environment issues on a macro level, urban farmers can help tackle these issues at a micro level by contributing to organic farming, because even in urban areas, people have gardens in their backyards or balconies. In the past, I too have posted on this topic and my efforts have been rewarded with a healthy organic garden!

Organic farming is the most effective way to achieve sustainable agriculture and organic food is better for health as well as the environment. So it is imperative that all the nations should encourage organic farmers, support them, fund them, address their issues and provide them all the resources. Events like these serve as a great podium for them. Thanks for sharing.
