PROJECT CITIZEN: TRELLISED GREENHOUSE |

Leadership Communities Baguio-Benguet conducted 'Project Citizen: Trellised Greenhouse' and 'Project Citizen Returns' for Barangay Caponga, Tublay , Benguet last May 15-16, 2013 and October 6, 2013 as its community extension program. Volunteers from the organization worked together. The goal was to build a greenhouse for the local community; designed to be used by three (3) families and to return and conduct a post evaluation on the built greenhouse structure. Last May 6 – 7, 2014, Lead Communities Baguio Benguet Chapter organized the Green house project activity held at Acop, Tublay, Benguet which was participated by the advisers, officers, and volunteers. The Leadership Communities Baguio BaBe officers and volunteers with the activity 'Project Citizen Return II' goes back to Barangay Caponga to see the greenhouse and the fruits of hard work, including the condition of the structure, the agricultural crops grown inside the greenhouse and harvested products if any. Even though the weather is not so good due to heavy rain, the activity was pushed through and the team continued to rebuild the green house again successfully. As part of the organization's aim in helping fight global warming, we will not stop planting and helping the community of Tublay, Benguet in promoting organic farming. Volunteers will be using the rest of the day to bond with the community, participate in their daily work and ultimately to immerse themselves with the locals as a way of giving back. I hope and i pray one day i`ll come back soon in this place where i have been part to build this green house it is not just the certificate that i just recieve but the selfless, passion,dedication,love,effort,sacrifice that you give in this community is worth and happy to see them happy. |

Hi, Carlos! Wow, the photos at the end of your report really shows what a big difference the project has made! It's great that you can help locals while also making the environment greener :) Great job, and keep up the good work!

Great initiative. I like the idea of organic farming much. As most of the villages are involved in farming and it is a major source of their income so they should implement the techniques of organic farming.

Hi, Carlos! Nice to see what you've done! I hope you had a great time on helping locals to build their greenhouse. I agree with you that the motivation for doing this activity voluntarily is coming from the warm feelings we could acquire from the smile of people who got the help. Thanks for sharing!
