Our country United Arab Emirates is very much aware about environmental awareness and they encourage public always to take part actively in all recycling activities. They organize competitions, conduct workshops & install recycling machines all over the country to raise awareness. I am very passionate about recycling. For the past many years my regularity, dedication & commitment is undeterred and use all opportunities to inculcate 3 R?s in my daily routine. It is not a case of a weekly or monthly activity, it?s a daily routine for me.

Besides individual efforts I encourage my team, school mates, neighbors & family friends alike. I am the founder of an environmental initiative Serve The Earth for past many years. In all the Eco-activities, my group is fairly active and regular.

In continuation of my environmental efforts, I am used to recycle plastic bottles regularly. Beeah in sharjah has installed many recycling machines in our area. Despite that I noticed that our student community is not much aware of the same and due to this ignorance, they do not use plastic bottle recycling machines.

In American University of Sharjah [AUS] one of such recycling machines is installed. I visited AUS and interacted with students, cleaners & waiters in the food court. Here many groups of students gather & discuss various educational topics, cleaners clean the areas & waiters serve them. All the group of people handles plastic bottles and were not mush aware of handling this beautiful machine.

First, I approached a group of students exchanging notes and sipping water. I greeted them & introduced myself. Then, I narrated them the use of recycling. They quickly agreed with me & than I demonstrated how we can use the recycling machine and take the acknowledgement slip. Subsequently I showed them the relevant Application on the mobile phone where the same may be scanned. They were quite excited & they practiced themselves on the machine. Soon they were quite comfortable & all of them vowed to use this machine henceforth. They were the daily visitors & also asked them to spread this awareness to all their peers.

Similarly, I explained about how to use the machine to the cleaners & waiters alike. They all handle many plastic bottles on a daily basis & if all of them start using the machine it will be worthwhile for Beeach & this will be a great eco-service as well.

My dear ambassadors, you will be surprised to know that upon my subsequent visit I usually found many students & other persons using the machine & Beeah people also confirmed that now this machine is heavily used & they have to empty the machine every 2-3 days. Earlier it used to take 10-12 days to fill the machine with recycled plastic bottles. I feel quite motivated & I urge all fellow ambassadors to spread awareness about local recycling activities. It is motivating & exciting.
