In April 2008, the SPARE Coordinators decided to organize a celebration at the international council in Kazakhstan. On November 11, 2008, the world's first energy-saving day was celebrated worldwide. The celebration was internationally recognized as the number of countries willing to join the project reached 20. In every country celebrating the Energy Saving Day, many events are held and the purpose of these events is to teach people how to conserve energy and to teach the simplest ways to save money. In many cities around the world this year, thematic conferences, exhibitions, and events will be held, and energy saving lessons will be held at the colleges.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Additional Measures to Improve the System of Accounting and Control of Electric Energy Consumption" of June 5, 2009, all objects of energy, subjects of consumer electronics, equipment of modern electronic record keeping devices.

Electronic information gathering centers, first of all, are being built by 10 thermal power plants, 14 regional power grid enterprises, six cascades of power stations and enterprises of the main electric networks of Uzelectroset.

Energy-efficient enterprises in all regions of the country are equipped with modern electricity metering devices.

Installation and adjustment of automation of Tashkent Thermal Power Plant started. The necessary equipment was purchased, including modern, multi-purpose electronic meters. These instruments not only allow for the calculation of consumed electricity but also transfer information to the software and hardware complex of the Center for data collection and processing. Contract work is being carried out by ESAN.

The new equipment will allow consumers to check the electricity supply balance. Upon completion of the set-up, it will be possible to transfer the information from the station to the headquarters of the national processing and storage of information.

Such works are being carried out at Fergana thermal power station. In the Kashkadarya region, an ESAT adjuster has demonstrated that the automated system for the experiments performs very accurately and reliably.

After the establishment of a single automated accounting system for thermal power plants, enterprises of regional power grid, hydroelectric power cord and "Uzelectroset" automated control and accounting systems of electric power will be set up for domestic consumers.
