The management of Aluminum cans represent an issue that must be solved. Recycling process was till new focused on paper and plastics. Till new aluminum cans was forgotten. But not for long.

From this year Romania was included in the international web structure of cycling aluminum cans process. Hundreds of cans are throwed daily by careless people everywhere they can.  There are a lot of environmental-friendly people, but what to do next is just one part of the care about the nature. For the rest we can use just laws and education.

Step by step people started to understand to negative effects on long term of this irresponsible waste spreading. Selective waste management must be an important point on the list of each company?s corporate responsibility plan. From this point Alucro Nonprofit Organization start his projects regarding managing recycling aluminum cans.

An important event has place this year in Romania, organized on 17 may in Bucharest, by the Aucro Nongovernmental Association. During the International Conference Mechanisms of selective collection and recycling of aluminum cans, Romania was face to face with major European countries, when results about last year?s aluminum cans recycle. The result was putted in a rapport, which should motivate Romania in further improvement of the international program "Every Can Counts' and to persuade local authorities and collectors to intensify cooperation with ALUCRO.

Representatives of the largest collection and recycling plants in Europe and Romania, as well as local authorities, the business sector and NGOs, gathered in Bucharest to discuss the impact and effectiveness of existing programs nationwide. By ALUCRO, Romania is among the countries as part of the program menus "Every Can Counts', a European platform that promotes recycling aluminum cans which aims to implement a system of long-term collection home, office or public events (festivals, shows, etc...). Program directors from France, Austria and the United Kingdom attended the conference to exchange experience with colleagues from Romania. "Every Can Counts' was recently launched in Ireland and Hungary, will be taken over by other major countries in Europe.

Official figures for 2011 were published on the Alucro website. Some figures from the  recycling aluminum cans report in Romania from 2012 are the goal of recycling aluminum cans is 21% (12,000 tones) and the  VS Pet-Friendly recycling target of 55% (90,000 tons) almost 5,000 tons were recycled in 2012 recycle 29% of aluminum on the market 80% of recycled aluminum  was represented by aluminum cans.

ALUCRO is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Can Pack Romania, AMEP AMERICAN PACKAGING and-EAA European Aluminum Association. The purpose of the association is awareness, education and awareness of a larger segment of the population ct on the collection and recycling of aluminum cans. By ALUCRO, Romania is among the countries as part of which runs the 'Every Can Counts', a European platform that promotes recycling aluminum cans, which aims to implement a system of long-term collection at home, office or public events (festivals, shows, etc...).

Every Can Counts "will hold this year and other events for the public such as" Recycling Fest "or" Can Movie Festival "during the summer, the Romanian seaside resorts.

With over 400,000 doses collected in 2012 "Every Can Counts" Romania becomes a success story and ALUCRO hope for a significant expansion of the program nationwide in the coming years.

"Recycling is a simple way that can be diminished impact which we all have on the environment by reducing energy and natural resources and reducing landfill.?According to Adina Magsi, Chief, ALUCRO.

"Once collected aluminum cans are transformed into new doses or other products containing aluminum bicycle frames for windows, used aluminum remelting save up to 95% of the initial energy required to produce raw materials."

In parallel, continuous ALUCRO activities aimed at education in schools and working with collectors, they remain core to improve the "eco-behavior" Romanian citizen, being clear that only through an efficient and officially recognized can improve recycling rate imposed European legislation.

ALUCRO objective is to promote coherent and efficient waste collection aluminum nationally, in close cooperation with all operators directly or indirectly involved in waste management associations taking responsibility, local and sanitation operators assigned.

And the end a single sentence tells everything: Romania recycle 30% of the aluminum cans on the market. We can more than that.

Having in mind that almost 70% are just losted in mountains of garbage near the cities, or resorts, with no utility, we can wonder what would hapens in the future when the consumption will increase. Even if is not healty to drink from aluminium cans people just continue on this bad hbit, promoted as a cool one.
