This year eco-surprises come frequently. In this time of global crisis, the concept of bank received new senses and utilities. In Romania, the NGO Environ launched the project THE ECO BANK – Yours recycling bank (ECOBANCA-Banca ta de reciclare).

Environ created a national e- platform  of the collection points for electrical and electronic equipment waste (WEEE) and batteries  waste (DBA), equipped with the most advanced techniques for the identification and tracking of recyclable waste. By the end of the year, over 20 points ECOBANCA served by volunteers, will be integrated into the landscape of the Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

This project actively supported by the Bucharest Mayor and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change aims on the one hand, the sustained promotion of a proactive attitude of the citizens of the capital city, and on the other hand to increase the share of such waste separately collected from households.

Environ Association continually seeks to contribute effectively to achieving the target of 15% reduction in annual quantities of recyclable waste disposed at municipal waste pit and providing an infrastructure for collection accessible to the public, thus supplying lack sufficient numbers of municipal collection points.

ECOBANCA is also an information point for the collection and recycling of WEEE and DBA type and effective point of collection, the first initiative of its kind to respond to public capital. Project partners are the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, City Hall of Bucharest, the national battery recycling, Globex, REMATHOLDING and Romprest.

Each private household / individual may enroll in the program in the following ways. It is part of a completion of recycling.  Each will  give free of charge by the Association Environ waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and batteries and accumulators (DBA) Every teaching or DBA WEEE each participant will receive a number of points corresponding to the quantity delivered in the form of a label that sticks on passbooks (booklet is non transferable).

WEEE are considered all types of electronic and electrical waste (including toys, gadgets, etc). DBA are considered all types of batteries and accumulators type battery, battery pack are not supported and dotted parts of WEEE such as electricity boards, electric motors, kinescopes tubes, vats of washing machines, compressors, etc.

Ties participants and thus designating winners and the awards will be made automatically and strictly neutral in the points accumulated by the end of each campaign. Prizes contains in gadgets and electronic products.
