February Free Topic: Scotland's Wildlife

Hey Tunza Eco Generation! For today, I?ll be telling you about Scotland?s wildlife! It is kind of unrelated to me, a South Korean living in Thailand. So basically my school has this day and festival called ?International Culture Day? and every class gets to choose a country to represent themselves. Our class chose Scotland, and my part is researching about Scotland?s wildlife! I could take pictures during the festival and write an report about it for you guys! Next time!

Scotland is famous for having a variety of rare animals living in a rich, diverse natural history. It is home to over 90,000 species, and their land, seas and forests support them nicely. ?From soaring golden eagles and leaping dolphins to scurrying red squirrels, perching puffins and many others, be patient and have your camera at the ready at all times.?.

There are lots of amazing animals seen living in Scotland, let me introduce some. The most fascinating animal is puffins. Puffins are also called ?the clowns in the air? because of their bright beaks. It really looks like a flying penguin with parrots? beak. They are ofter found on the Isle of May, Anstruther. Second, Midges. Midges are the Scotland?s most dreaded creature. One bite by these will leave you scratching it for days. Third, red squirrel is just one of many species that can be spotted in the Highlands of Scotland. The country is home to over 75 per cent of the UK's endangered red squirrels and is one of the last strongholds for the species.

And for weather! Despite being a relatively small country, one of the most surprising things about the Scottish climate is just how much it varies from one region to another. It's often the case that you can drive for 20 minutes and find that the conditions are completely different. The unpredicatable nature of the climate means it's not uncommon to experience all four seasons in one day!

I got to learned about Scotland?s habitat, nature, wildlife and it was really fascinating. I hope you guys learned a lot too! Thanks!
