WATER POLLUTION?PROBLEM

Hi everyone! My name is Lisa Zaretskaya. I would like to draw your attention to my first report related to WATER POLLUTION PROBLEM.

Nowadays, environmental problems are the most burning for the modern society. The air we breath, the water we drink, the ground where we grow our food, and even the increasing noise we hear every day, that`s all contribute to health problems and a lower quality of life. As to me a green Earth means that water, air and soil are clean.

Taiwan where I live now also has some problems with water pollution. So, I would like to tell you about one interesting project which was created by the students of National Taiwan University of the Arts concocted a line of ?frozen treats? titled Polluted Water Popsicles. The group collected polluted water from 100 locations in Taiwan, first freezing the collected sewage samples and then preserving their creations in polyester resin. Young designers have created a few dozen types of ice cream, consisting of water, collected from all reservoirs of the country.  For each sample designers have created the wrapper with toxic-content indicator. You can see that the color of ice-cream is different because the water it is made of, is produced from different garbage. Interestingly, in the ice cream, you can easily see the garbage (bits of plastic, bottle caps, and wrappers lying within the popsicles? murky waters), and the color of the water in each instance is different.

The project is intended to spread awareness about water pollution and its deep effect on our world?s population. The 100 pieces, which also included designed wrappers, was nominated for the Young Pin Design Award and featured in the New Generation of Design Exhibition last May at the Taipei World Trade Center.

Thank you for your attention.

    Hello Elizaveta!!
Thanks for introducing 'Polluted Water Popsicles' to us.
The idea is fresh and amusing. The students of National Taiwan University of the Arts who created this surely seems fittable fot the nomination at the Young Pin Design Award!
I hope more activities like this would be done by youth so that we could gather more interest from people about environmental issues~
    Good report!!
    Thanks :)
