Pollution at Tourism Sites

by Kushal Naharki | 20-07-2018 13:19 recommendations 0

Pollution is defined as the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance which has harmful or poisonous effects.Pollution has been increased tremendously due to population growth, unmanged urbanization and industrialization leading to serious impacts on the different aspects of ecosystem along with effects on health of living beings.

Nepal is rich in natural resources and is famous tourism spot around the global. Along with the increase in the tourist visiting the place, pollution has also increased in the tourism sites. Famous tourism place like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Sauraha, Bandipur along with many other tourism sites have been pollution due to unmanged system. Due to the lack of dustbins at the proper place, lack of management of the people visting the place, tourism sites have seen increased amount of pollution. The pollution mainly includes wastes and plastic being thrown out at various place of the tourism sites.

There should be formation of local body to govern the cleanliness of the place. Dustbin should be placed at several places. Strong laws should be made to  discourage people from throwing waste where ever they like. Tourism sites are of great importance to us and we must keep they clean and attract more tourist in to place. The concept of Eco Tourism has also come now days.

Eco tourism is defined as tourism directed towards exotic natural environments, intended to support conservation efforts and observe wildlife. We must protect our environment and maintain it. Only focusing on tourism, we must not deteriorate our environment and its natural beauty.
So, Lets act together to make our place clean and green :):):)

Hello Kushal, visiting other countries or famous tourist places needs 'responsible and sustainable tourists'. Abandoning or restricting the sector or area that tourists can enter may be the best solutions, but it would trigger collateral cultural problems among countries (of the ones which do have tourist places and of the ones where tourists came from). The best solution should be ecotourism education led by individual countries and their relative or sub-governmental organizations. Lack of responsibility means lack of dedication for individual to devote oneself to 'better world' in the end.
    Thanks for your report!

    Hello Kushal
With summer vacation many people are visiting popular touring sites. And I too have been traveling some domestic places and have faced several severe pollution going on. The biggest problem seems to be the lack of responsibility as for tourists, the place isn't their home which makes them to care less. Hope eco-tourism could get more spotlight so that better management could be done in tourism sites!
    Thanks for the report :)

    Hey Kushal!

True, tourist sites are of great importance to us, especially for economic purposes. It seems that, as you said, the establishment of a green space governing body. So that they see to it that the tourist attraction is protected.

As you said, we should act together and keep our environment green, not just for this generation, but for Many to come!

    Lovely report
