What Can I Do with My Major? This is a very timely topic for a Monthly Report for me because I am currently looking for a job after having graduated in the end of March 2018. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Political Science and Communications track. Some might say that a major in Interdisciplinary Studies won't get me anywhere because it is too generic and doesn't specialize in any particular subject. It's not Accounting which would make me a CPA and it's not a pre-Med course which would put me in a Medical path. Neither is it in Architecture or Interior Design or one of the Engineering courses. So in what career path will a degree that focused on Political Science and Communications take me. Well, let's put it this way. These are fields that are important in something I want to do in the future, which is take up my Masters in Environmental Management. I want to do my part in protecting the environment and I feel I need to get my message across. how best to get my message across? By knowing how to communicate in a politically correct manner. All my young life, my niche has been anything related to the environment. I would like to continue this advocacy by communicating the issues and concerns of the environment and by encouraging other young people to do their part in environmental protection. |

Hello Bam, nice pic though (must be your graduation photo, right?)
I am also majoring in political science and international studies, which is generally treated as 'not that much helping anyone as the academic characteristics of this major are way too genuine and far from social values, not affecting them directly'.
However, as you mentioned in your report, to take care of one's major in either different or creative way is up to individual choice, not the ones who discern and judge us.
Hope your career development and pursuit have led you on the right track, and may your wishes come true as other ambassadors here thought so, too. (for our better and more convenient, but sustainable future.)
Keep up with your work :)

Hey Bam!
It is a big need nowadays to have more people with a political and legislative background so as to apply to the environment at large.
I like that fact that you secede to take the political route to get involved in safeguarding the environment. I wish you all the best with your masters study.
Well done on the completion of your degree! And lovely report!
