Ozone problems in Taiwan |

Hi everyone! My name is Lisa Zaretskaya. I would like to draw your attention to my 1st report related to Ozone problems in Taiwan. The first meeting of our ecological club in this new semester was devoted to Ozone problems in Taiwan. The student Naum Cheng made a report on this problem. He told us that some air pollution issues extend beyond national boundaries and cover the globe, such as ozone layer depletion, acid rain, and climate change, and their effective solutions will require the full engagement of the international community. The destruction of the ozone layer leads to climate warming, which in turn leads to the death of many animals and plants. Many of international conventions have been signed and ratified by countries around the world to control global atmospheric problems. For example, the Montreal Protocol, the Kyoto Protocol, and so on. Although Taiwan is not a signatory party to these conventions, Taiwan has joined the global efforts to control and cut down on the production and usage of ozone-depleting chemical products. Taiwan has also coordinated with local customs offices and other related agencies in order to protect the ozone layer. Taiwan is doing everything possible not to destroy the ozone layer of the earth. And as little as possible uses chemical elements that destroy it. |

Hi Elizaveta,
It's good to know that Taiwan has been doing so much for protecting the ozone layer. May all the other countries also replicate such actions and together make this problem non existent.

Ozone depletion is a serious problem and it is nice to know that Taiwan is figuring out ways to mitigate the issue.
