Education is a global priority.

61 million children are out of primary school

71 million young people, including half of all adolescents in low-income countries, receive no post-primary education

793 million illiterate adults

Gems Education in association with UAE ministry of education, UNESCO, Commonwealth business council, Varkey Gems Foundation organized the ?Global Skills and Educations Forum? which was conducted from March 15-March 17^th 2013 in Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, UAE.

World Leaders united together to discuss a lot of issues regarding Educations and Skills Development. It was conducted over 3 days. One the first day was a pre-discussion event where Tony Blair came and also Bill Clinton spoke through video conferencing.

The other 2 days had many events. There were main discussions in the main ballroom and also round table discussions, forums, etc. At a same time there would be forums on various topics in different rooms. So, people can choose the best topic they can go, so the event catered to everybody?s interest.

I was selected as one of the youth ambassador for the event. So, I spread info about it through social media and also posted live tweets from the venue. These tweets catered to a large number of people who followed the event online. I also drew a picture in the e-message board which was also the only one which was shared through the GESF facebook page.

I also saw many leaders including presidents of countries, ministers, personalities, etc. I also attended the session which was conducted by Fareed Zakaria.

Through this event, I was able to learn more about education, policies, etc and also has helped me develop my knowledge, etc. Also, I feel motivated to help create better educational policies and also help out in the way I can for achieving education for all. I am being part of initiatives where I can help out now and when I grow up, I will definitely do my part for achieving education for people.
