(September's Topic) The most important shield, Ozone Layer

by Rock Lee | 20-10-2018 22:38 recommendations 0

Hi my fellow friends, this is my article for September. Topic ¡®Ozone Depletion and International Project to stop it¡¯. Ozone layer is one of most important shield in Earth. It¡¯s one of the reasons we don¡¯t melt down and burn from the sun¡¯s UV radiation.

As important the ozone layer is, we should do our best from preserving it, not destroying it. But, we are already destroying the ozone layer. Ozone depletion means the gradual thinning of the ozone layer by chemicals such as carbon dioxides, methane gases, etc. These chemicals and gases are mostly produced by human activities. Running factories, driving cars, smoking and more.

Scientists have discovered the ozone layer in 1913, and found out ozone holes in 1985. Ozone holes are areas with no ozone, which means you can get UV radiation directly. From this, you can get skin cancers, burning of your eyes, liver spots and lots of more horrible side-effects.

So, what are the projects that are stopping ozone depletion? One of the main projects I think is the Montreal Protocol. The Montreal Protocol is an international agreement designed to protect the ozone layer by decreasing the uses of productions of substances that are the criminals for ozone depletion that was agreed in 1987.

There are lots of other agreements/projects about protecting the ozone layer, but I think there¡¯s something else more important that those. It¡¯s us, humans. We have to unite and become one to solve/protect the ozone layer and recover ozone holes. Let¡¯s act for our world together.

    Hello Rock Lee
The Montreal protocol indeed has done a great job to mitigate the ozone depletion problem.
And through our recent ambassadors' report, it was nice to read continuous dedication in this matter. Hope this attention could be maintained!
    Thanks for the report :)
