2 must-see films about environmental awareness

Nowadays apocalypses movies have become more popular among people.  Some of them are based on book¡¯s, history or just imagination. However, there are some of them which are based on mathematical predictions for the future and climate change. One of my favorites movies in this topic is Elysium, Elysium is a futurism movie, that describes the life of people who are living in a ¡°perfect¡± spaceship, while other people in the Earth is living in the ¡°hell¡±.

The Earth is unhabitable after many years of excessive use of natural resources and high pollution rates. Nonetheless, there are some survivors living on the Earth. For them life is hard, they have to fight for everything, even for water. Unlike the people who live in the spaceship, who are very rich and could afford that high living level, they have all cures for all illness, so they can live for a long time until the Earth became habitable again.

This movie makes their audience meditate about how far we are for that point where there is no going back. If as a human race we do nothing for fighting the climate change, this could be an scenario on Earth, where the Earth is totally damaged and the richest live comfortable, while the poor survivors fight for their lives.

Another movie that I really recommend to watch is ¡°The day after tomorrow¡± I watched this movie when I was 8 years old and it is still stuck in my mind. It is about the consequences of the high levels of CO2 in the atmosphere and climate change. During the movie, It shows how natural disasters started to be more constants and strong all over the World. As well as their horrible consequences.

This movie has a powerful message for all those people who think that global warming is a hoax. Even though it is an old movie, their special effects are very good, and the topic was advanced by their time of the premiere. I truly recommend.

    Hello Eli
Apocalypses movies have been around us for a while and what makes me fear is that when I was a child, these movies seemed too unreal, something way away from us, a complete-fictional storytelling device. However within the few years, many things have changed and judging upon its accelerating rate, now these stories aren't quite fantastical imagination but rather a possible future in probability. Hope positive winds could blow before everything gets lost.
    Thanks for the report!

Hola Eli, drastic changes in modern world will result in disastrous future for upcoming generations. Elysium itself means a place like utopia or ideological directing point. In the movie, as you had already seen, Elysium satellite city is the place that does not have war, disease, armed conflict or fight but just peace. However Earth itself is full of famine, war, disease and inequality that have come and become successive from generations to generations.
If we do not react and get prepared against such problems, we cannot evade from such problems may conquer our land and future.
Thanks for letting us know what we are facing right now by introducing those movies!

    Hello Eli Quiroz,
    A warm Namaste from Nepal

I have watched 'The Day After Tomorrow' movie ', this movie try to show the natural power of earth, nature power is invulnerable, we must respect the nature and care earth.

I will try to see the Elysium,
Whatever environmental film may be there, all have one common message, we must respect and care our earth otherwise we may face very big challenge.
Ambassador like us have to play great role to save earth,
we can conduct a program and show various environment related movies to students so that they can be aware about conservation.

    Thank You for your report.

    Hi Eli :D

I have watched 'The Day After Tomorrow' movie as well, it's a true film that speaks volume. The two movie you have mentioned have one message, and that is: when will people actually realise that the Earth is being strained beyond its recovery rate? And that it will only be a few more moments before the Earth actually gives in and collapses.

I hope that it will never be the case that we will be segregated due to the living environment of the Earth. but rather that it unites us to take care of Her.

Thank you so much for reporting Eli, I really liked reading up on your articles!
