The transition of trash: Using Eco bricks!

by Rosa Domingos | 21-11-2018 17:50 recommendations 0

The use of plastic in or day to day lives  has been a normal thing for most of us, from simple candy wrappers that we consume, to huge plastic bags that we use. Plastic has been incorporated into every single thing around us and half of all plastic produced is designed for single use(Joaquin, 2018).

An Eco-brick is an exciting new method of reusing plastic, it made of a plastic bottle which has random clean and dry plastic waste compressed inside it. Not only can be used for constructing furniture, but full-scale buildings such as schools, and infrastructure are among the many things that can be built. In short Eco bricks turn waste into something that is useful for today's world and the future generation.

Reducing plastic waste by creating Eco-bricks should be practice to be conducted by the world at large — especially those who are suffering from absurd plastic pollution because it will reduce the rise of animal extinction, numerous diseases in humans (microplastics), and it lessen the effects of natural disasters (Joaquin, 2018).

Eco-bricks can help to reduce the rise of animal extinction, this is because every year, 18 billion pounds of plastic seeps into oceans from coasts and numerous types of marine mammals such as sea turtles and seals are killed each year after ingesting plastic which they mistake for food. Eventually, (according to UN environment) if we will continue to use plastics our oceans would contain more plastic than fish by 2055 and it will not only affect the ocean it will also affect us humans because we are one of the main consumers of marine animals (Joaquin, 2018).

It will aid to reduce numerous diseases in humans. The burning of plastic in the open air leads to environmental pollution due to the release of poisonous chemicals, so once it was inhaled by humans it can cause respiratory problems and provoke development or progression of chronic illnesses including lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and emphysema. So, if there's more and more plastics that will not be disposed of properly and 40% of the world¡¯s garbage will be burned, air pollution around the globe will get worse and the effects of it will get worse too.

It will lessen the effects of natural disasters. Each year the world produces 260 million tons of plastics and it doesn¡¯t only affect animals but also us human beings (Joaquin, 2018).

We are the problem, we create thinking that it will improve our standard of living and it has, but to the expense of the environment.

When natural disasters such as floods happen, they don¡¯t only bring danger they also bring tons of garbage that is mostly plastics. Plastics that are brought by the floods clog waterways that cause overflowing of water that covers streets and lands that are usually dry. This causes damage to property, damage of power transmission, and what is even worse is the loss of human life (Joaquin, 2018).

Above all, it seems pertinent that Eco bricks should be considered globally, because we are not only making a sustainable substitute for construction materials, we are also reducing plastic waste and contributing to reducing the rise of animal extinction, numerous diseases in humans, and lessening the effects of natural disasters. The making of Eco bricks is such a small act, but when we as a nation will contribute and do this, for sure it will have a macro effect to the whole world!

    Hi Joon!

I completely concur, so many articles based on the latest inventions of ecobricks have been released and I believe that it is gaining speed now. I do hope that with continued exposure, it will get more airspace .

Thank you for reading my report!
    Sincerely yours

    Hi Gyeongrin!

Absolutely, We humans are the cause of this damaging act to the Earth, starting now we need to change the perspective that people have on climate chnage, global warming and the health status of the planet. And I think, such an initiative can be utilised to showcase that we can make an effort to restore the Earth.

Thank you for reading my report!
    Sincerely yours

Hello Rosa, thinking about the prime reason of the problems can lead to better solutions rather than keeping our eyes open to remove the whole problem outta our vision. Eco-brick corresponds to that, and there were several types of bricks so far to people about risk that we are facing in our daily lives : brick made up of particle matters in year 2016.
Not close to upcycling but at least it does not fill the landfill site or get burned out to make new pollution. Finding alternative ways for our environment like ecobrick are in a great need for all of us to decrease the overall speed of environmental pollution!
Thanks for introducing unique item to us :)

    Hello Rosa
'We are the problem, we create thinking that it will improve our standard of living and it has, but to the expense of the environment. '
The defining of the reason that causes all this environmental issue is fairly easy. It is us, human.
However, despite the simplicity of the problem, it isn't really easy to change how the determining factor, human to act. Eco-bricks seems to be a nice initiative to bring more people into the interest in reducing plastic wastes!
    Thanks for the report :)

    Hey there Deepak D

Financial aid is definitely in the picture for this is an idea which can benefit for many lives and the environment. It's amazing how plastic can be reused to create many more art and other items.

Thank you so much for reading my report Deepak!
    Sincerely yours

    Hello Rosa, Namaste

Eco-bricks are really a good option, to build small buildings,
I saw how plastic are recycled to make railway lines
All we need is innovation, we can reuse plastic and make various things which help to conserve environment.
We can reuse plastic and can make new plastic items, Eco-bricks,roads, railway lines etc,
but we need economic support and many other
Hope one day we can completely reuse plastic, now only 5-10 % plastic material are reused, hope this will increase more

    Thank you for your report.

    Israel,

It is mind-blowing to know that something can be done you know. They will need to showcase it so as to gather a strong audience. But like you, I do believe that this idea will transcend far and wide!

    Many thanks!

    Rosa,

The news about Eco-bricks is very inspiring. I believe its a new innovation, and it will require high technical know-how before public use. Meanwhile, it can be use to build simple and experimental buildings.

    Thanks for the report.
