Monitoring Air Quality levels in the UAE |

Dear Fellow Ambassadors, Warm Greetings! The air quality level in the UAE is acceptable & the pollution is under control. Still the country takes on measures to improve & monitor the same regularly & strictly. The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has drawn a unique Air Emissions Inventory by using the satellite imaging, traffic monitoring and submissions from industry.
The CO2 Emission map is attached with the report. Presently 78% of the emirate meets the target pollution level. In the next three years this is planned to be increased to 90%. It implies that almost all the Emirate shall be under Green umbrella.
Such an ambitious plan is not easy to implement. It requires strict industry partnership as well. The authorities will identify the industries that are flouting the air pollution level standards. They will be warned first and will be given a timeframe to adopt green methods so that the air pollution level becomes under control. If they comply its fine else they will be monitored & will be slapped with heavy penalties.
The beauty of UAE is that here the rules are made to be followed & executed. All the government plans all its activities months in advance and they discuss, meet and amend often. Once they implement a rule, they are ready to listen to the feedback and many a times they amend the guidelines in order to suit the general public interest. But they make sure to meet the targeted deadlines.
Environment is at the top of the agenda of the rules of the UAE The founding father of the UAE, Late Sheikh Zayed once quoted, On land and in the sea, our forefathers lived and survived in this environment. They were able to do so only because they recognized the need to conserve it, to take from it only what they needed to live, and to preserve it for succeeding generations. This quote has a deep meaning and is applicable throughput the world, not only in the UAE.
Friends, Please do take care of the environment near you and the world shall be a greener place to live in. |

Dear Joon, Thanks. You are correct. They have developed new areas like Yas Island, Al Reem Island etc. & are building ports as well away from the city.

Hello Rohan, another brand new challenge of UAE!
It seems like the roads and regions from Abu Dhabi to Al Samha have heavy level of CO2 emission overall.
It might be due to the concentrated complex of industries, buildings, towns and so on but I think it is better off to build some facilities or deploy add-ons beside existent buildings rather than splitting each sector into different ones and moving them into different regions.
Please share more stories about this plan and upcoming projects!
Thanks for your report :)
