Every year all families celebrate the most magical and long — awaited holiday-new year. Each country has its own special traditions of celebrating the new year. But the common thing is that people, regardless of race and nationality, do not spare money to celebrate this holiday in a big way. Money is spent on the purchase of a Christmas tree and a variety of decorations for the house. Bought a huge amount of food for the holiday table. It is mandatory to buy gifts. And in many families is considered a good tone for the new year to update it is still suitable for use furniture, dishes, clothes, etc. And after the holiday in some countries it is customary to burn the Christmas decorations. For example, in Japan. And not all of the food is eaten, some of the products are spoiled and thrown away. How to make the celebration of the new year more environmentally friendly? I will help You deal with this question! How to prevent irresponsible approach to products during the new year holidays? It is known that about 40% of food in the world is regularly thrown out, and the new year acts as a catalyst for this disaster. Plan your new year's menu in advance and make all purchases at once, not in parts. So you not only save money and time, but also produce less garbage. Try to plan the menu of the new year's table so that you can use mainly local products. Cook less perishable dishes, replace them with those that are frozen. Use extra products to prepare new dishes. Christmas tree — artificial or real? The main attribute of a new year celebration is a festive fir-tree, and many of us are tormented by a question what to choose - artificial or natural? I believe that" live " spruce is much more environmentally friendly than plastic. After all, in the production and transportation of artificial wood in the air gets a lot of harmful substances. Low-quality plastic trees may become unsuitable for the next new year, and even in the case of long service products, plastic will be long to decompose in landfills. Much less consequences for nature will be from the use of natural spruce. You can buy a felled tree, but it is best to do it in specialized places: at Christmas markets, in shops where you can provide documents for trees. After the holidays, spruce can give a second life: pass for recycling or turn into a piece of furniture. Even more environmentally friendly to dress up a living Christmas tree growing in the yard, buy a Christmas tree in a pot and then transplant it to the suburban area or make a "tree" from scrap materials. How to decorate a festive fir-tree? The most important thing in the new year holidays is, of course, emotions and impressions. Much brighter and adults, and small will remember the process of making Christmas toys with their own hands, and not buying in the store. And please don't abuse the holiday lights! Save natural resources! Spend the new year without harm to the planet! To be continued. When writing the article materials of the site were used: https://vk.com/greencampusrf |

Hello Nikolay, celebrating the end of year and welcoming the new year may differ individually but I never thought about individual styles of commemoration :)
As you said in your report, using different type of tree is better off than using cheap plastic tree. For other additional add-ons on the tree, it might be same too!
If you do have spare time, search out the youtube clip that Kushal mentioned in his feedback, it might help you proceed onto the next step of this report series!
Keep up with your work :)

Hey there Nikolay!
An Early Festive Greetings to You!
You are right. The festive season is undoubtably the most stressful, financially consuming and environmentally damaging time of the year.
I really cannot relate to the Christmas decorations at home because we hardly do that. But I have seen a few of my friend's homes with such decorations. So this is such a relevant report that should really be read by those who practice this.
I can totally relate to the food issue, but what we have decided to do as a family is to instead of eating as one family, we plan to have 3 families over for the lunch and supper. This saves money and reduces food wastage dramatically.
I really enjoyed this message, it's so relevant!
Yours sincerely
R.

To be continued in the end excites me more for your next report.
I was explaining the same problem and had written the report about food wastage during festivals a month before when we had festival season in Nepal. I had also made the video and uploaded to Youtube and I know that you have surely watched it :)
This is a very important topic and thank you Nikolay bringing up this topic in write time as people spend large money and waste food and many resources during such event .
We must make people understand about the resources they are wasting and environmental degradation they are causing. We must encourage the people in celebrate the year end season and the new year in the green way.
Thank you for your great report Nikolay
