Plastic Free Protected Zone |

Chitwan National Park being the oldest National Park of Nepal is an important part of the Chitwan National Park. As per the news article released by WWF Nepal has been declared as Plastic Free Protected Zone. As many tourists and visitors national parks, large amount of the wastes are definately produced there.
The announcement was made at a special program organized in Sauraha “We are looking at local solutions to tackle the world’s global problems, plastic being one of them,” stated Dr. Ghana S. Gurung, Country Representative of WWF Nepal. Collection bins have been kept in the various part of the national park to collect the wastes and every visitor taking the plastic material must bring them back along with them. National parks are the important heritage and campaign such as that very important to beat plastic pollution. I feel that This step should be encouraged in taken in other national park of Nepal also as we are moving forward together to beat the plastic pollution together. If we can't refuse, lets refuse it.

I am ecstatic to know that the Chitwan National Park has been made a plastic free zone. It is a good step by the Nepalies stakeholders to protect the national park and I'd like to see more of such activities being done in the nation of Nepal congratulations for this big win!

Hello Kushal, I have read quite many reports about Chitwan National Park in previous reports from regional ambassadors of Nepal.
Concerning various issues raised so far, I have also thought that specific regulation must be implemented to prevent further problems toward national park. Plastic free protected zone enactment will definitely take care of plastic pollution that park has been facing so far!

The beginning is always the most hard part and when one gets started it flows like water, gaining speed.
The declaration of the first plastic-free protected area is really a great news to open this 2019 year and hope that more good news could follow for the days to come.
