I am an undergraduate student of Agriculture from Nepal. I always try to incorporate agriculture, environment, youth and children empowerment in my activities so that I can bring the positive change and transformation in the society and promote Tunza EcoGeneration. As we all know how much environment and agriculture are interrelated together. We all live in this environment and work for the survival. Since, I was having my Winter Vacation these Days, I am focusing more on my environmental campaigns. With the motive to promote Tunza EcoGeneration and Know the effects of environment degradation and pollution in Agriculture, I have conducted an small survey. Nepal is an agricultural country where most of the people are farmers (Around 65%). Environmental degradation and pollution has serious impact on the agriculture but farmers are still unaware about as Literacy Low is very low here. During this program, I visited a rural area of Mid Region of Nepal. The name of the village is Simalsawara, which is located in Bandipur Rural Municipality. I was accompanied by Social Activist Gita Naharki who was familiar with the farmers over there. During this program, I visited with the farmers of the village individually in their house and asked about environmental problems they have been facing and how are they impacting their agriculture. I was surprised by the fact that farmers were totally unaware about the effects of climate change. As per the report about half of the population of Nepal are unware about the causes and impacts of climate change. I was glad that one of the farmer Sabitri Poudel greeted us with Tika as it was the day of Maghe Sakranti which is a religious festival of Hindu. During the campaign, I also awared the farmers environmental issues and their solution. Along with this, I also explained them about the existence of online Elite Platform Tunza EcoGeneration and requested their younger children to join the platform. Farmers were surprised and glad that such environmental platforms exist and congratulated me for working actively as Regional Ambassador of Nepal. I have attached few photos of farmers, location and my mentor during the campaign with this report. I would also like to list down the environmental problems explained by the farmers to me during this survey. 1) There has been change in the regular change in the regular rainfall pattern impacting the cropping calendar for farmers. |

Hey there Partner!
First of all, it is really good to see that our ambassadors take their work where it is not hear of and moreover teach and aid those in understanding the current issue that may not have known was existing around them. Climate change has been a major factor of concern in the agricultural industry. Moreover, farmers are noticing this too, without the need to be made aware of. But the joy of science is that we can further explain the reasons for Climate Change and global warming.
Thank you for your work that was conducted with Gita Naharki!
Warm regards!
Rosa
