Akagera National Park is located in the eastern-northern Rwanda. The park was named after the river that cross the border between Rwanda and Tanzania. It is one of few Savannah reserve which is able to shelter various wildlife species across Africa.
The park has a beautiful lake called "Ihema" with spectacular view of surrounding mountains, and biodiversity. One of the most exciting activity to do while camping is fishing as well as traveling the lake. You will also enjoy an amazing sky view when sun set with various Savannah birds species. The park is also one of the largest game drive place where you can drive more than two hours without seeing a car, and you experience amazing wildlife scenarios including the games of lions and crocodiles with antelopes. On rarely, you may also see leopards, and other predators. There are variety places across the park to watch an amazing scheme of landscapes. The park also is a homeland of different vegetation species including tall, and small Savannah trees, and more geological features that are very attractive. If you are planning for a quest in this region, you can't afford to miss these spectacular adventures in this park. |

Akagera National Park reminds me of Maasai Mara here in Kenya! The Savannah is a unique and diverse ecosystem that should be protected and appreciated. I would love to visit one day! Thanks for sharing Eric!

Thank you for your report.
National Park is great ways to protect fauna and flora in their own habitat. It is the best way of exsitu preservation. I can imagine how beautiful is the environment over there and Ihema lake seems to have great beauty by attracting the tourist to the place with its natural beauty and fishing in the place. I hope fishing is properly being manged there else it can harm the aquatic life inside the lake.
Keep writing great reports and thanks for the report related to monthly theme.
Best wishes from the Land of Himalayas Nepal.
Green Cheers from Kushal :) :)

Hy Eric
The picture here is similar to what I have been watching over years on television. Africa is rich in animal resources and urgently something needs to be done for conserving these species be it tourism along with strict conservation efforts.
Thank you
Have a nice day :) :)
