Information on Water for environmental purposes |

There is limited information on the provision of water for environmental purposes have not been widely practiced in developing countries. Understanding forest-water interactions under multiple climate change scenarios and at all scales, including tree, stand, catchment, watershed, biome and precipitation shed scales is must. The ratio of water used versus water conserved, purified and delivered downstream by forests varies over time and is influenced by climate, topography, soil, forest structure (age, density, leaf area index (LAI), species composition, etc.) and forest management practices.
In order to balance the trade-offs between water use, water yield, forest products, and the wide range of water related ecosystem services provided by forest, integrating forest and water management for providing safe and sustained supply of both water and forest related ecosystem services for people and the planet, while ensuring the resilience of forests to global changes. The process of developing integrated watershed management strategies for sustainable management should be performed through the incorporation of adaptive management techniques and traditional ecological knowledge. Clear goals and objectives must be needed while accounting for the needs and opinions of public and stakeholders. Many research works are also need to be conducted by focusing on the growing concerns over several water-related human and ecosystem vulnerabilities. Policy makers and managers can integrate this research proved result into practical applications. By the way, this 2019 theme for World Water Day is ¡°No one left behind¡± and it will fall on March 22. References: - Myanmar Integrated Water Resources Management Strategic Study,December 2014 |

Hello Hnin, water resource management technologies have been illuminated since many countries are facing water shortage problems as days pass.
Voice of stakeholders is also important to know requirements and conditions of water supply in certain region or nation too.
Thanks for your report!

Thank you for your report. We simpky cannot survive without water and therefore it is very important we take this issue with the seriousness it deserves.
