Feature Free Report:Climate Change/Abnormal Climate£Taiwan's Climate Change

by Yu Hsuan Huang | 12-03-2019 23:02 recommendations 0

Taiwan is affected by climate change. We can also use Taiwan¡¯s local research report to explain what kind of position Taiwan is facing in the overall situation of climate change, what kind of problems it faces, and how Taiwanese should be. Solve the major disasters caused by climate change and the policy of preventing disasters.

In the beginning, we can first introduce the geographical location of the island of Taiwan. Taiwan is an island on the east side of Asia and on the northwestern side of the Pacific Ocean. It has been a hub for marine transportation since ancient times, and it is also a region where typhoons and fronts often occur. In the following discussion, we will mainly focus on the damage caused by the abnormal climate and marine ecology to the Taiwan region.

First of all, in the overall situation of climate change, Taiwan is located in a high-risk group. Because the average temperature rise is increased by 1.3 degrees, if this value is classified in the calculation of the global average, then the temperature of the Taiwanese body is twice the world average temperature. And compared to other neighboring countries, it is like China, Japan, or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Such a result will lead to Taiwan's own rainfall intensity, the incidence of heavy rain, and annual rainfall, which will bring Taiwan even more serious disasters than in the past. This is just one of the situations that Taiwan will encounter under climate change.

However, the degree of danger in Taiwan can also be supported by another document. Among the information published by the German organization of the international organization, the global climate risk index is mentioned, and Taiwan is the seventh most dangerous region in the world. In the climate change performance indicators evaluated by international organizations, it is ranked seventh in the bottom because of insufficient renewable energy, limited implementation of climate change policies, and fossil fuels. Such a situation is extremely inferior to Taiwan's future in the face of climate change, and it has a congenital overall environmental obstacle to the energy transformation that is currently being promoted.

Since then, Taiwan is an island, our subsequent discussion will be based on the changes in the marine ecosystem around Taiwan as a result of climate change. At the beginning we discussed the average sea level of Taiwan itself, which is three times higher than the global average. Then, when the average temperature and sea level are higher than the global value, the resulting tropical cyclone and rainfall will be several times that of other countries. In this way, there will be economic and ecological damage to the coastal areas of Taiwan, as well as low-lying areas.

Then we can also understand the disadvantages of ocean acidification. The main reason for ocean acidification is the water quality and the effect of carbon dioxide in seawater. This will reduce the pH of seawater from 8.2 to 7.8, which is caused by ocean acidification. The effects are the hatching rate of fish eggs, the formation of marine organisms, and the growth of fish. This is a great injury to the marine ecosystem.

Finally, we want to explain the degree of damage to marine ecosystems caused by human activities, because climate change will cause alien species to change their original habitat and enter the native ecosystem, then the growth of exotic species and overfishing will be the original ocean. The ecosystem causes irreversible damage.

To advocate is how to protect Taiwan's marine ecosystem and prevent disasters from climate change. The way to protect the marine ecosystem is to reduce the invasion of exotic species, because if there is too much exotic species in a region, then Taiwan's own marine ecosystem will not have the original native ecosystem.

As for how to prevent the catastrophe of climate change, it can the three major of renewable energy, climate change disaster prevention and reduction of fossil fuel use.

    Hello Yu Husan

Thank you for the wonderful report. Climate change impacted several fields and no longer be taken as hoax. Thanks for explaning us about the climate change issue in Taiwan. We must work together for the adaption, mitigation and awareness campaigns

    Keep writing beautiful report.
We are eager to read more reports from you.
Green Cheers from Nepal :) :)

    Yours,

    Hi Yu Husan,

This is another great report, and this is great in a sense that you've talked about the climate change that is related to your home country - Taiwan. Personally, I had a better understanding about Taiwan by reading your report and you seem you concern about this issue a lot. I like how you touched on marine system because most people tend to ignore marine system as it does not affect us directly. Yet, marine system is very important for us as well.

Please keep writing good reports, and I really enjoyed reading yours. :)

    Thanks,
    Louis Mentor

    Hello Yu Husan
Thank you for your amazing report. This is very well organized and you did great job on
explaining the environmental problems that Taiwan is facing right now. I'm sorry to hear that Taiwan is especially susceptible to climate change compared to other close Asian countries.
Since Taiwan is an island, it must be affected by the change of ocean temperature and marine ecosystem a lot. Thank you for sharing this information and it will be very helpful to whoever want to learn about Taiwan's climate change. I'm looking forward to reading your next report.
