Preserving Endangered Species

by Rohan Kapur | 17-03-2019 00:49 recommendations 0

Friends, please look at the picture attached with the report. Eggs! This is not laid by a hen, these eggs are very special, and it deserves to be applauded. The efforts of UAE in preservation of endangered & critically Turtle species has born fruits. These eggs are laid by endangered hawksbill turtles which has nested at Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary, in Dubai for the first time. The picture was happily shared by the Dubai municipality at their Instagram account.

As quoted by Wikipedia: The hawksbill sea turtle is a critically endangered sea turtle belonging to the family Cheloniidae. It is the only extant species in the genus Eretmochelys. The species has a worldwide distribution, with Atlantic and Indo-Pacific subspecies—E. i. imbricata and E. i. bissa, respectively.

Conservation status: Critically Endangered (Population decreasing) Encyclopedia of Life

Class: Reptilia

Order: Testudines

Scientific name: Eretmochelys imbricata

Family: Cheloniidae

Further, As per the website: http://www.ourendangeredworld.com/species/reptiles/hawksbill-sea-turtle/

There are only 15,000 female hawksbill sea turtles in the wild left in the entire world who are capable of laying eggs.

This is just one example. There are now 41,415 species on the IUCN Red List, and 16,306 of them are endangered species threatened with extinction. This is up from 16,118 last year. This includes both endangered animals and endangered plants.

In such a grim situation, the efforts of UAE government are applaud able that they have taken care of keeping them safe & now since eggs are hatched, there is a chance of survival of this species and increasing their population.

The Mother Nature is intrinsic and complex. Co-existence of all the plants, animals and marine life is essential. We cannot just let it go away. It will disturb the eco-cycle and we¡¯ll invite disasters to happen.

Please think it over, Dear Ambassadors.

    Hi Rohan,

As you've pointed out, it is true that there are many animals that are facing extinction due to the environmental destruction, and I also feel the responsibility for that. I am once again deeply saddened and by reading your article, it reminded me one more time that I should really think about our environment and endangered animals.

Thank you for bringing this up! :)

    Hello Rohan
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story! It's sad that many animals in the world are becoming endangered and even have gone extinct. On the other hand, it's still hopeful that there're also many environmental organizations are governments that are aware of this problem and are trying to save endangered species. Hello Rohan

Thank you for the wonderful report. Many organism are getting endangered and many are in the stage of vulnerability due to human activities of poaching, habitat destruction, pollution and many more. If we don't take care of them, there will be many plants and animals which will remain only in history and book. We must preserve in insitu, exsitu and through implementation of rules and regulations.

    Keep writing beautiful report.
We are eager to read more reports from you.
Green Cheers from Nepal :) :)

    Yours,
    Kushal Naharki

It??s very sad to hear about turtle being in endangered state. Ecosystem is balance is all the aspect is uniform. Any disturbances in one tropic level adversely affect another.
    This must be stopped.
