vermicompost

by Dibya Bhatta | 17-03-2019 12:00 recommendations 0

Vermicompost (or vermi-compost) is the product of the composting process using various species of worms, usually red wiglers, white worms, and other earthworms, to create a mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast.
We are making use of Eisenia fetida (older spelling: foetida), known under various names such as redworm, brandling worm, panfish worm, trout worm, tiger worm, red wiggler worm, red californian earth worm, etc., is a species of earthworm adapted to decaying organic material. These worms thrive in rotting vegetation, compost, and manure. They are epigean, rarely found in soil.
last month we bought half kg of earthworms and now we have more than 2 kg of worms .They multiply so well during the summer and little slow during the winter. The wastes produced in canteen and hostel can be used so well to make it a valuable manure. The quality manure cam be sold in nice price. Thus waste can be easily be used to harvest money.
you can also keep your vermicompost bin in your kitchen corner.
You can use anything like bucket basket.hard cardboard ,styrofoam etc to keep your worms. It donot smell bad rather produces a quality manure for your kitchen garden. The manure thus produced can be used in rooftop gardens as well and harvest fresh organic vegetables.
Turning waste to quality manure!
Green cheers!! <3

    Hello Dibya Bhatta

This is a great report about vermicompost. After reading this report, I can understand the benefits of vermicompost and how we can promote organic farming in the most effective way. I think this idea can also be implemented in East Asia. I hope you can write more related reports and thank you for your great report.

    Hello Dibya!

Thank you for writing a great report and introducing vermicompost to other fellow ambassadors. Using pesticides have become a serious environmental problem as it can harm the eco-system. Further, pesticides are accumulated in human??s body and often end up causing deadly diseases. Vermicomposting must be a very effective alternative especially for those who own a small garden!
Thank you again for sharing great idea! I hope to see more brilliant ideas of saving environments in your next reports.

    Hello Dibya Didi

Vermi composting is getting very popularity these days. It is also very important as it makes the best utilization of the organism for increasing the fertility of the soil. It also plays an important role in moving towards organic agriculture rather than use of chemical fertilizers in the agricultural field.

    Keep writing beautiful report.
We are eager to read more reports from you.
    Green Cheers :) :)

    Yours,
    Kushal Naharki
