Tree Huggers is a book about how a girl named Andrea who fights for her tree to not be cut down. She meets others like her and specifically Jason who happens to also be fighting for the same cause. They immediately become friends and he lets her on his theory on how he avoids the trees from getting destroyed by doing the simple act of hugging the tree. He tells her that he avoided the cutting of his tree by hugging it whenever the people who come to demolish it come. This book is about her journey on how she saved a tree she had grown accustomed to and has had many memories with. The author of this book, Nikki goes by the username bamboozled and her book can be found for free on wattpad. |

Thank you for recommending such a heartwarming story. Hugging trees is nonviolent movement but still can deliver a clear and strong message.

Hello Merry! Thanks for sharing this unique and Eco friendly initiative by a girl named Andrea. Even in India we had same sort of initiative by women to save trees. It's popular known as Chipko Movement. Chipko means To Hug. It is a non violent, social and ecological movement by villagers of Uttarakhand state.
