Hello to our friends in Seoul, South Korea!  The Philippine President Benigno Aquino III was in Korea visiting your country from October 17-18, 2013 and had talks with President Park Geun-Hye.

Trivia: Both Presidents are children of former Presidents of their countries.

The two Presidents had many chances to hold summit talks. They witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on defense cooperation and the MOU on sports cooperation.  More important to us environmentalists are their talks on disaster reduction and climate change adaptation projects,

President Aquino also spoke to the Korean business community at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul. South Korean businesses have major investments in the Philippines. While he is in Korea, President Aquino also got to meet the Filipino community that lives there.

To help the victims of the huge earthquake that hit the Philippines on October 15, South Korea donated $500,000 for rehabilitation.
