Today peace faces a new danger: the climate emergency, which threatens our security, our livelihoods and our lives. That is why it is the focus of this year’s International Day of Peace. And it’s why I am convening a Climate Action Summit." — UN Secretary-General António Guterres
The children are very happy to celebrate International day for Peace 2019. This is the environment of Kids Home English Boarding School, Nawalpur, Nepal. On the occasion of this auspicious day, child club of the school organized art program to promote peace, to stop violence. As children have raw mind, we should fill them with positivity. The theme of International Peace Day for this year is "Climate Action for Peace".The theme draws attention to the importance of combatting climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world. Climate change causes clear threats to international peace and security. Natural disasters displace three times as many people as conflicts, forcing millions to leave their homes and seek safety elsewhere. The salinization of water and crops is endangering food security, and the impact on public health is escalating. The growing tensions over resources and mass movements of people are affecting every country on every continent. Source: un.org |

Polluted environment will eventually make humans suffer. Violence between humans seem to decrease in 21st century, but not it's time we should stop the reckless development and work for sustainable growth. Youths, as the bridge to the future, should get used to having eco-friendly life style.

I see that you have done some great work to celebrate the International Peace day!
And yes, indeed the climate change could be a threat to international peace and security. Especially regarding the climate refugees, although they are the victims of some of the most dreadful problems of humanity, they often fall into even more serious political, social and economic situations. They wouldn't have had to go through all these tragedies if it weren't for the catastrophes.
I really do agree with you that climate action could resolve some of the most serious conflicts in our world, and thereby promote peace.
We as the green actors hence are also the peace promoters of the world!
Let's be proud of what we're doing and keep it up!!
