The Mexican territory has been subdivided so conventional 38 hydrologic regions, including
the islands of the Golfo de Baja California. However, each of these regions is
made by one or more watersheds.
In the territories of indigenous peoples of Mexico are captured annually 364 387.47 mm3 Annual average water. This figure compared to national uptake, which is 301.393 1566, Millions of cubic meter Mm3, that means 23.3 percent of the national total.
Most of the territories of the indigenous communities are located in the heads of basins, so it is important to create a new model of nature protected areas with the culture value of indigenous peoples
Why work whit indigenous people?, because they are a really important part of the wildreness lands in all Mexico and are the guardians of the world?
Currently, we know the real costs of some consumer life is reflected in the sacrifice of others, that is expressed in the thousands of hours of workers and children enslaved in undervalued jobs, global poverty, hunger, misery, pain from the thousands of farms in the world of animal slavery, millions of acres that are the basic fabric of life have been eliminated, and thus decimated homes and animal societies. We are in the sixth mass extinction of vertebrates and is the first anthropological happens for reasons, which have led to a new era, the Anthropocene, the more than 100 species of mammals, reptiles and amphibians on the planet who disappeared in the last 100 years were extinct in 7000-13000 years, but for the indigenous people, these animals have been extinct, are his family...
Unfortunately, the indigenous peoples are the most vulnerable groups in term of justiciability, since when being away from urban areas and away same judicial system that in theory are responsible for justice in Mexico, likewise, there is no culture of respect for biodiversity by government authorities, leaving unpunished acts that seriously with cultural and environmental wealth of Mexico as the following examples. toxic mining, hunter...
biocultural heritage (Jaguar, bear, bob cat) needs to be considered part of the priority areas for conservation to create  public policies promoting the wilderness lands with the biocultural heritage part of the indigenous people  in accordance with the provisions of  OIT 169 public so as to create mechanisms for preservation.

I agree with you Angel, we are captured by consumer life style.
We, of course including myself, need to focus on what enriches our spirit, not on what media tells us to buy.
