some natural and organic pesticides

by Bal krishna Pandey | 27-01-2020 14:35 recommendations 0

Have you ever wondered what farmers did hundreds of years ago to control crop pests? Long before the invention of harmful chemical pesticides (yes, those related to cancer cell activity), farmers and households have found multiple remedies to eliminate insect infestations from their garden plants. The following list will suggest some of our preferred, all-natural and inexpensive organic methods for making insect repellent pesticides for your garden.

1. Neem

The ancient Indians worshipped neem oil as a powerful and all-natural plant to ward off parasites. Neem juice is even one of the most powerful natural pesticides on the planet, containing more than 50 natural insecticides. You can use this extremely bitter tree leaf to make a natural pesticide spray.

To make a neem oil spray, add half an ounce of high quality organic neem oil and half a teaspoon of a soft organic liquid soap to two liters of lukewarm water. Stir slowly. Add to a spray bottle and use immediately.

2. Salt fog

To treat mite-infested plants, mix two tablespoons of Himalayan crystal salt in a gallon of lukewarm water and spray on infected areas.

3. Mineral oil

Mix 10-30 ml of high quality oil with 1 liter of water. Stir and add to the spray bottle. This biological pesticide works well to dehydrate insects and their eggs.

4. Citrus oil and Cayenne pepper

This organic pesticide works well on ants. Mix ten drops of essential citrus oil with a teaspoon of Cayenne pepper and 1 cup of lukewarm water. Shake well and spray on affected areas.

5. Soap, orange citrus oil and water

To make this natural pesticide, simply mix three tablespoons of liquid organic Castile soap with one ounce of orange oil for one gallon of water. Shake well. It is a particularly effective treatment against slugs and can be sprayed directly on ants and cockroaches.

6. Eucalyptus oil

A great natural pesticide for flies, bees and wasps. Just sprinkle a few drops of eucalyptus oil where the insects. They'll all be gone before you know it.

7. Onion and garlic spray

Slice an organic clove of garlic and a medium-sized organic onion. Add to a liter of water. Wait an hour, and then add a teaspoon of Cayenne pepper and a tablespoon of liquid soap to the mixture. This organic spray will retain its power for a week if stored in the refrigerator.

8. Chrysanthemum Flower Tea

These flowers hold a powerful plant chemical component called pyrethrum. This substance invades the nervous system of insects, rendering them immobile. You can make your own spray by boiling 100 grams of dried flowers into 1 liter of water. Boil dried flowers in water for twenty minutes. Strain, cool, and pour into a spray bottle. It can be stored for up to two months. You can also add some organic neem oil to enhance the effectiveness.

    Hello Bal krishna

I didn't know that there are some natural materials that can be used as pesticides. Since there are some disadvantages of using chemical pesticides, it would be much better if those natural pesticides are manufactured as commercial products.

Thank you for the informative report!

I hope you are doing well !
These natural and organic pesticides are far healthier but increasing use of inorganic pesticides has led to resistance to these organic form.

I hope the modernization in the agriculture would not harm human and ecosystem itself.

Thank you so much for this wonderful report.
