It has been a while since I wrote my last report, and I?m glad to be writing this after a long month filled with exams and various events. Anyways, what do you think of when you hear about Seoul, the capital of South Korea? I guess most of you would imagine K-POP, tall buildings, or even the GYEF, which is held at Seoul National University. However, I would like to talk about a hidden attraction in Seoul which makes it even more beautiful.
           You may not believe it when I say that there are more than 20 mountains in Seoul. However, it is true! Starting from the Namsan in its heart, the city is filled with mountains such as Gwanaksan and Achasan. (The names can be confusing, but just keep in mind that ?san? is Korean for mountain.) Yet there is only one mountain that has been designated as a national park, and that is Bukhansan.

           The word Bukhan means ?north of Seoul?, and so Bukhansan is a mountain located on the north of Seoul. What makes it even more special is that the mountain is also part of Goyang, the city I am living in. It would be easy to think that half of the mountain is in Seoul, and the rest in Goyang. Anyways, I visited this mountain two weeks ago.

           It was getting into fall, and the trees were beginning to have red and yellow leaves. Yet most of the leaves were still green, and this made the mountain seem like a mix of colors. The mountain was quite steep even if it was in Seoul, and it took me more than 30 minutes to get to the top. However, the try was worth it because I could the skyline of Seoul, Incheon, and even the Yellow sea. Furthermore, I could see the Bukhansansung, a fortress situated at the top of the mountain.

           You may think that Seoul is a polluted city filled with traffic and skyscrapers. Yet it also a city very close to nature, filled with mountains and parks. I hope more foreigners (including you guys) get to know about this hidden beauty of Seoul.
