Environment Pollution and Corruption

What is the relation between Environmental pollution and Corruption?

The industries and cars that have not fitness to run, the respective authority takes bribe and certify them to run. Thus the environment and ecosystem gets harmed. So corruption is also a big issue for environment here in Bangladesh. There are lots of unfit (according to carbon residue) cars in Dhaka city. But nobody is here to stop their illegal ways.


A workshop on Role of Youth against Corruption was held in Dhaka University RC Majumdar Auditorium. The workshop was jointly organized by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and Rotaract Club of Dhaka North. Youth from different universities joined the workshop.


Youth are taking oath not to do corruption in any means.

Organizers gave about one hour for making fellowship between the participants. The theme of this year Rotary International District 3281 Bangladesh is Leadership with Creativity and Innovation.  The event was started by honoring national anthem and purpose of Rotaract.


Former Inspector General of Bangladesh Police Mr. Nurul Huda was the chief guest for the event. He shared his working life fighting against corruption. His story inspired the audience and touched their heart. He said, ?Now a day it is hard to find role model to follow in police department. But we had models in our time.?  Head of an organization must be ideal to fight against corruption, he added.

Mr. Humayun Rashid, CEO & Corporate Director of Energypac Power Generation Limited was special guest. He inspired the rotaractors sharing the history of Rotary movement worldwide. He mentioned about the history of Polio free world. Rotaractors contribution worldwide makes the earth polio free.


Eco Generation ambassador and his team participated in the event.

Director, Outreach & Communication of Transparency International Bangladesh Mr Rezwan-Ul-Alam PhD was the speaker for the program. He discussed the role of youth against corruption. The working policy of Transparency International Bangladesh and the youth engagement to prevent corruption was presented by him. Mr Rezwan invited all the participants to stand against corruption. Later he answered the question of the audience.

District Rotaract Representative Asherqur Rahaman Mishu was also presented in the workshop. The program was ended by prize giving ceremony.

    Yes, it is not that difficult to buy right to pollute with money from the corrupted government.
    But it seems quite hopeful that many youth leaders are aware of it and gathered to solve this problem.
