After the successful discussion on Agenda on first day, we had discussion continued on the second day too to comeout to a final resolution for the committee.
In this report I will be sharing about the Insight of Day 2 of the committee:

The second day of the committee was full of heated debates accompanied by little drama. The delegates looked confident about their research and were keen to present their points to the dais. The main motions of in today¡¯s discussion were Ecotourism¡¯s help to strengthen the economy of the country leading to the sustainable future, The roles of Government and different NGO¡¯s and INGO¡¯s for sustainability and some measures to lead ecotourism to sustainability. The discourse in the committee mainly focused on the solutions and measures for the betterment of the ecotourism sector.

The committee started with little discussion on the present scenario of environmental tourism in the member countries. Australia admitted the bush-fire issue as the worst thing that has ever happened to them. The delegate urged the visitors to re-schedule their trip rather than to hate Australia and support them for their important comeback. Australia also ensured that immediate actions were being taken with different strategies and economic plannings to recover their huge loss. France presented them as the advocate of ecotourism and SDG¡¯s whereas Kenya felt the violent activities in Somalia is affecting the tourism sector. Kenya also added that they are providing ecotourism Kenya Eco-rating Certification to the service providers in the ecotourism field as encouragement and promotion of the subject.

Talking about the ecotourism¡¯s help in strengthening the economy of the countries, different creative viewpoints came into the floor. Madagascar felt, in ecotourism, they don¡¯t have to invest in modern technologies creating pollution and accommodations are cheaper and beautiful than lavish ones. Norway also added the skill development and employment opportunities for the locals leading to fulfilling the SDG's. Kenya saw the learning experience and also find economic stability as the by-product of the ecotourism.

The countries also talked about the role of government and different organizations for all-round prosperity and sustainability. Firstly, Australia suggested for the development of environmental awareness and to provide special facilities for those starting businesses related to tourism. Qatar welcomed the participation of other sectors than governments in tourism and suggested the fellows utilize the qualified manpower in that field. One of the major topics discussed was ecobrick¡¯s pros and cons. The brick made by recycling the plastic waste was recognized as the management of existing plastic waste by the countries.  Countries like Ecuador expected suggestions from fellows for promotion of sustainable developments. Norway showed that there is interrelation between nature, ecotourism and human itself and asked for measures of the Nature protection.

There were some talks on the measures to lead ecotourism to sustainability too. Ecuador believed that transforming irresponsible tourism to responsible one by awareness and proper guidance could be a factor for ecotourism development. Also, the delegate focused on finding an alternative to plastics for the conservation of the environment. Australia urged the visitors to make proper thought and look beyond obvious destinations for visit in new countries. China suggested the countries to make strict rules and proper implementation regarding the poaching and illegal trade of natural resources. The delegate also suggested the encouragement of electric vehicles and to provide a reward as low taxes. Norway also claimed itself as the 1st country to ban deforestation. Qatar is the host for 2022 world-cup thinks the event as the golden opportunity to promote ecotourism and asked the support of the fellow countries. The delegate also promised and ensured that the agenda will be properly taken care of by the Qatar government.

The delegates had also worked for the solution to the different issues and problems discussed in these two days and had started to draft a resolution as well.

    Hello Kushal

It looks like the second day was also full of great ideas.
In my opinion, the fascinating point of this event is that each delegates come up with the solution that is suitable for their own nations. Since each country has its own backgrounds and situations, it must have been a great opportunity to share ideas and suitable solutions.

Thank you for the great report!

    Hey Kushal!

I really think that some of the measures that you have guys agreed upon are really meaningful and I believe that some of them are already happening in the world!
Especially concerning the government's role in raising environmental friendly awareness and assisting those business involved in the ecotourism, my country Korea is an example where its Jeju island, local government is constantly communicating with its people so that those people who are the supplier of various tourists services have in mindset the ecotourism and environmental sustainability!

Great resolution and I hope you had a great time.
    Green cheers!
