The very first plastic tubes which people use almost every day are straws. Humankind has been producing this facilitator for the purpose of us enjoying drinking water without having to booze the bottle of water directly to our mouths. This friendly-looking piece of plastics sure has more negative consequences than we think it can lead to. As it is often shown in the media that rubbish and sewage are thrown into the ocean without enough supervision of those in charge, sea animals are likely to undergo the troublesome obstacles of living and finding food to feed on. The most heartbreaking case revealed online is definitely the viral picture of a sea turtle having a straw tucked into its nostril. During the process of getting rid of the torment, the turtle did seem to get seriously hurt, noticing from the bleeding and its painful expression. This picture is merely one of the other 100 examples of sea creatures being injured by humans’ lack of consideration and empathy.

Fishnet

At the moment, there are tons of fishnets set under water, waiting for edible fish to pass and fall into the trap. Unfortunately, not only do fish get snared but also dugongs, sea turtles and others which are not the target of fishermen. It does look like an unsolvable problem since fishermen are legitimately allowed to do their business, but these unexpected victims are uncontrollably drawn into the temptation. However, in the future, a legislature to help reduce the chance of killing sea animals may be proposed and can effectively protect them from any possibility of getting disturbed and killed.

Trawl

What it would be like to have someone knocking your door every mid-day and then freely gallivanting around in your house to find something? I believe it must be so disturbing and so inhabitable. Similarly, every day, the sea floors are constantly being trawled by hundreds of fishing boats. This human activity has caused so much inconvenience for the marine animals of all kinds, including coral reefs. Furthermore, trawling has caught more than it should; for example, it catches baby sea animals and simply destroys the beds of sea plants that lots use as an habitat.
