problem and solution for renewable energy ( thematic report)

by Htet myat aung | 23-07-2020 03:24 recommendations 0

Problem

My country, Myanmar, is now struggling for economic development; nearly 50% of the country can access electricity. The government planned 2030 electricity master plan which aims to provide 100% electricity to the country, also aiming 30% of electricity is from renewable energy. This master plan is planned in 2015. The problem is the renewable energy sector because the government has to invest a lot of money on it. But, the country should not only depend on the non-renewable sector. So, the solution truthly needed.

Solution

PPP ( Public-Private Partnership) truthly needs to implement the process of renewable energy. The company produces electricity from the renewable sector. They sell the electricity to the government. This way may be effective to implement renewable energy.

Hi Htet myat aung, this is a mentor, Sang Su Lee.

First, please add the resources as a citation that you've referred to to write the article.

I thought that your problem definition is quite ambiguous. Does the problem occur because there is lack of electricity? or government does not want to invest money? Problem definition should be related to the environment, but I don't see this in your article... T.T

    HI Htet myat aung!

Especially in the future, its important that governments and the private sector connect through mutual incentives. The government wants to reduce carbon emissions or shift to renewable sources of energy while private businesses want extra revenue. With a PPP governments can incentivize businesses to either change their business model or help them research and develop new sources of energy through subsidies(government giving companies money) Another possible(very traditional) idea would be to implement a carbon tax.

Thanks for Sharing Myanmar's renewable energy story. Great Report!

    Cheers,
    Keitaro

Hello Htet myat aung, this is mentor Taehyun!

It's a very traditional way of handing out things that governments can't do to the private sector, and they're also very active in that area! In particular, in the case of renewable energy, the most famous private company is SolarCity, founded by Elon Musk, which is also said to be working to supply solar energy and build smart grid systems throughout the United States. I think it's good for private companies to step up and act in a way that can give the planet sustainability!

    Thank you for the report!

    Green cheers!
