[Free Report] COVID-19 and Earthquake listening |
---|
by Jaewon Chang | 01-08-2020 14:04 0 |
With the COVID-19 pandemic, many regions have been placed under strict quarantine measures, and the majority of people show tendencies of staying home. This was clear when a research study showed a 50% decrease in vibrations emitted from humans (between the months of march and may). The absence of sound was a lot more conspicuous in metropolitan areas with larger populations.
The Earth being relatively quieter than before has permitted researchers to investigate seismic signals (earthquake signals), that were previously unheard - due to the large magnitude of human-linked vibrations. While the current pandemic persists, researchers may find opportunities to conduct research that was not possible in the past.

Hi Jaewon Chang, this is a mentor, Sang Su Lee.
When I am reading this article, one adage has come up, which states, "the risk always follows by opportunity." Since humans' activities have significantly been reduced, I hope the researchers can do a lot of researches that they were not able to conduct before!
Green cheers. Thank you for a good report. I will look forward to reading your next article.
Also, please don't forget to cite the reference materials in your article.

Hello jaewon,
Thanks for sharing this report.
Due to covid-19 and lock down many positive changes can be observed in environment. its interesting to know about the seismic signals at this moment of silence.
Regards,
Sandesh

Hello Jaewon
Thanks for sharing this informative report. It is indeed true that COVID-19 has enabled environmental analyst to be able to detect genuine seismic signals which was not possible before due to human related vibrations.
Cheers.

Hello Jaewon Chang, this is mentor Taehyun!
It's common to hear that the effects of coronavirus on the environment are also reduced, so the effects of the environment being temporarily clean, but it's interesting because it's the first time I've heard of the reduced effects of the virus! By reducing the impact of vibration, we can really do a variety of studies!
Thank you for the report!
Green cheers!
