South Asian Climate Leaders Meet Up As a part of Climate Reality Training, we were part of south Asian climate leaders meet where more than 250 young climate leaders participated. The discussion was made on how collaborate we can act for climate action in the south Asian region. We also discussed on how we as youth can take forward the movement of climate action at the local region to global region along with the projects that are already running that we can get involved in. Our Question to Al Gore Former Vice President Al Gore is the cofounder and chairman of Generation Investment Management, and the founder and chairman of The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit devoted to solving the climate crisis. The presentation during the climate reality training was mainly given by Al Gore where he discussed the science behind climate change with the impacts of climate change and possibility of positive hopes in future if we take climate actions. As part of table work, we do a discussion and learning from each presentation every day. We are asked a present the question to Al Gore with discussion in our table work and here are the following some questions that were presented in our table look. 1. How can youth collaborate together for Climate Action? 2. Targets of Paris Agreement are missed by many countries. As there is no planet B, is there Plan B for climate change by the global leaders. 3. Climate action haven¡¯t reached to the indigenous people who have been nearer to climate disasters. How can we take actions at local level? 4. Climate Justice is a huge question already. Do you think this will be the next global movement? 5. As the increasing climate related disasters, how do we tackle climate related migration? 6. How can youths get involved in INGOs, NGOs and government to take climate action at local level? Panel Discussion Session As apart of learning activity we had panel discussion on the following topics where young climate leaders made a discussion: Ensuring a Healthy Future for All Rebuilding with Green Jobs Making a Rapid Transition to Low carbon economy Putting Justice and Human Rights First in the United States Putting Justice and Human Rights First Around the World Making 2020 a Year of Action: Youth Leadership Writing Your Climate Story It is very necessary to share our climate story to motivate our self to realize why and when did ewe start and inspire the next generation to take action. I have shared my climate story in my last report, I hope you found it inspiring. As the training progress, I will be sharing my more learning and experiences form the training in the next reports. |
