September is also considered as month for cleanliness. A lot of Environment related days falls under this month. We all can be involved in this event can make a difference and create a better world. Amidst the negativity spreaded due to COVID-19, we can all get involved in and utilize these days for spreading positivity. Below is the list of the dates when you can be involved and make a difference. 1. International Literacy Day - September 8 Each year this day is celebrated on 8th September. With the theme of " Literacy teaching and learning in the COVID-19 crisis and beyond" , this year it will focus more on health education, creating awareness among yougster and children, spreading climate related information and facts as well educating more and more people to obtain better employment in the economic crackdown. 2. International Coastal Cleanup Day- Second/ Third Saturday of September This year it will be celebrated without much big involvement of people to prevent spread of COVID-19 . It is one of the most popular and coastal health concerned event annual event. Due to over-tourism coastal lifestyle is getting ruined every year. 3.International Day for the preservation of Ozone Layer This year, we are celebrating 35 years of the Vienna Convention and 35 years of global ozone layer protection. Life on Earth would not be possible without sunlight. But the energy emanating from the sun would be too much for life on Earth to thrive were it not for the ozone layer. This stratospheric layer shields Earth from most of the sun¡¯s harmful ultraviolet radiation. Sunlight makes life possible, but the ozone layer makes life as we know it possible. 4.International Day of Peace - September 21 With the theme of " Shaping Peace Together" , this year it is celebrated by spreading kindness, compassion and hope in the face of COVID-19 pandemic. 5. International Day for the total elimination of Nuclear Weapon- September 26 Each year on 26th September, International Day for the elimination of Nuclear Weapon is celebrated. Nuclear Weapons have negative adverse effect on the environment and must be avoided at any cost. Hello Sagar, this is your mentor WooJoo :)
It is a surprise to me in that there were so many international Eco-days that I've never heard about. Although this year we can't do any gathering activities or campaigns, we could celebrate these days by just doing tiny things for contribution.
It would be more informative if you add the history of the day, since when did it started being celebrated and why etc.
Thank you for sharing your report with us. Keep working hard!
Stay safe and hope everything is fine.
