UAE¡¯s Green Development Strategy was launched under the theme ¡°A Green Economy for Sustainable Development¡± in 2012. It was launched by UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The main objective of this strategy is to transform the national economy into a low carbon green economy. It is based on the development of knowledge and innovation. Apart from that UAE has launched many series of national initiatives. There are a set of measures also taken on the use of innovative solutions and practices to support this initiative. A few of the measures are as follows: 1. To reduce and minimize the ecological footprint 2. To improvise the transport sector in line with sustainability 3. The government is taking various steps to transform the issues to sustainable opportunities. As you are aware that land exploitation, over population, climate change¡¦ are a few causes which is being tackled. In Abu Dhabi an entity by the name Environment Agency was launched to protect the environment and wildlife, make suggestions, conduct research, preserve biological diversity. The various sectors in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are required to coordinate with this agency with regards to environmental affairs. There are various responsibilities of the agency to protect the environment. A few of the responsibilities are as follows: 1. Propose and devise methods for using water optimally 2. Prioritize studies and research on the environment and wildlife 3. Devise strategies to treat industrial liquid wastes 4. Conduct research on the impact of oil wastes and devise solutions 5. Hello Sainath!
It's your SJ mentor.
Warm greetings from Korea!
Thank you for letting us know about UAE's regulations for environmental protection.
I know that Masdar City, an eco-friendly city, has already been established.
If you have a chance, you may introduce this city to our ambassadors.
UAE is an oil-producing country, but I am glad to see that it is making efforts to transform itself into an eco-friendly country.
Let's find ways to protect nature and also achieve economic growth.
Keep up with your hard work!
Regards,
SJ mentor.

Hello Sainath,
this is your mentor WooJoo.
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you for sharing environmental regulations in UAE.
I think that the goals are quite similar to the ones of South Korea, and other developed countries as well.
For a sustainable growth, it is important that all countries try hard for the common goals.
I am glad to hear that UAE is putting effort too.
I am curious about what the average CO2 emission, or ecological footprints are in UAE.
I hope that the Green Agenda is successfully completed after 10 years.
Keep sharing
Regards,
WooJoo
