[Thematic Report] [Ecosystem changes due to climate change] |
---|
by Jaewon Chang | 17-12-2020 19:13 0 |
Though climate change has occurred for a really long time (beginning 11700 years ago), its effects on various ecosystems have only been recognized recently.
Prior to discussing examples of species that have been affected, we must understand the direct effect of climate change on ecosystems. Climate change causes changes in the natural habitats of species, and often forces them to migrate to other locations. In doing so, food webs in certain locations of the world are altered, breaking the equilibrium that existed previously. Polar bears are commonly referred to when discussing species that have been affected by climate change. Due to the warming of the Arctic, ice begins to melt, and thus the habitat of polar bears is threatened. Additionally, seals, which are the main prey for polar bears, are threatened due to climate change (as seals require ice in order to raise their young). In the ways described above, climate change affects polar bears in multiple ways - through destroying their habitat and threatening their main prey.

Hello Jaewon!
It's your SJ mentor.
Thank you for sharing your thematic report concerning the effect of climate change.
Climate change is breaking the balance of the ecosystem.
Many creatures are becoming extinct and the food chain is threatened.
Biological diversity must be ensured before irreversible critical points are met.
It would be nice to think about how individuals can do to protect the ecosystem and save the environment.
Thanks for nice report. Hope things are fine with you.
Best regards,
SJ mentor.

Hello Jaewon,
this is your mentor WooJoo.
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you for sharing the growing concerns regarding the climate change.
Ecosystem changes due to the climate change are happening everywhere,
and everyday thousands of organisms are dying and green areas are being destroyed.
it is not easy, but we have to change our daily routines step by step in order to protect our ecosystem from the consequences.
Each report has to be longer than 20 lines at minimum,
and I think your report is shorter than that.
Please share bit more with us.
Regards,
WooJoo
