Environmental regulations or infrastructure in the country

by sandy charles | 23-02-2021 07:26 recommendations 0

Like most countries concerned about the protection of their environment, Guinea has an environmental code that governs the laws related to the protection of its natural resources.

In article one of this code which stipu

ARTICLE 1: The purpose of this code is to establish the fundamental principles for managing and protecting the environment against all forms of degradation, in order to protect and enhance the exploitation of natural resources, fight against various forms of pollution and nuisances and improve the living conditions of citizens, while respecting the balance of their relations with the surrounding environment.

This code takes into account all aspects related to the protection of our environment and its resources.

The first part of the code in chapter 1 deals with fundamental principles and definitions.

This part concerns the definition of key words related to the environment such as: environment itself, pollution, Pollutant, Environmental Facilities and others.

In the second chapter concerning the administrative structures of the Environment we can cite some articles:

ARTICLE 9: The implementation of the National Policy for the Protection and Development of the Environment is ensured by the ministerial authority in charge of the environment under the terms set by decree n¡Æ007/PRG/86 of 19 March 1986 fixing the attributions and organization of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Environment and decree n¡Æ008/PRG/ of 19 March 1986 fixing the attributions and organization of the Secretariat of State of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Environment in charge of Water and Forestry.

ARTICLE 10: A National Council for the Environment is hereby established to assist the ministerial authority in charge of the environment in the preparation of a National Environment Policy and to coordinate and facilitate by means of a consultative activity the governmental action in this field.

The rest of the code describes how resources are to be protected and the provisions put in place to punish outlawed perpetrators.

Guinea has one of the best environmental codes in the West African region, but its application poses a real problem that negatively impacts the protection and survival of our resources.

We therefore appeal to the authorities to enforce the laws contained in the environmental code to ensure the protection of our environment.

    Hello Sandy,
    this is your mentor WooJoo.

    Warm greetings from South Korea.
Thank you for introducing us the environmental regulations in Guinea.
I am glad to know that Guinea has enacted such environmental regulations, and is aware of the related problems, such as pollution.
It would be great if you can translate the articles for us, so we can understand more deeply about how your country is protecting the resources.
Also, could you explain us how its application is negatively impacting the protection of the resources..?
Hopefully all other neighboring countries become like Guinea by enacting well organized environmental codes too.

    Keep sharing

    Regards,
    WooJoo
