(Thematic Report) Green city for Green vehicles |

Recently, every other person has heard about the need for green or sustainable transportation. We have all heard about their benefits and how much damage we will do to nature in the future if we continue to use the current mode of transport. But not many people know that we need a green environment or a green city to fully realize the idea of green transportation. In addition to eco-transport in the sky, it is extremely important to create a "green" infrastructure on the ground. According to experts today the ecological ideal is a compact city (where the number of trips can be kept to a reasonable minimum), but also a city so comfortable to live in, from which one would not want to run away. An important part of creating such a strategy is the greening of transport. And to translate this idea into reality, it is necessary to remove what smells - we are talking about cars with internal combustion engines (diesel and gasoline). It is desirable to replace them with gas (relevant for large cars), because it smokes less, and even better to make a replacement for electric cars. Any car takes a physical place on the road. And if every inhabitant of a megalopolis will use a car, then there is simply not enough space on the roads for everyone, because the area of modern street and road network is not enough for such a volume. It is also necessary to remind the importance of operating buses on compressed natural gas (methane). One of the advantages of using methane-fueled buses is a high degree of environmental safety. Passenger vehicles comply with the EEV (Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicles) standard, which is the most stringent requirement governing the emission of harmful substances into the environment. However, the partial purchase of new eco-cars is not enough for the overall greening of public transport. To make public transport more efficient, it must be reorganized. For this purpose, it is necessary to reduce and optimize the number of city routes (today there are too many of them, and therefore the citizens cannot use them as effectively as possible), as well as to revise the boarding rate. In addition, the city needs to develop the infrastructure for the comfortable existence of electric cars and launch a network of electric charging stations. Stations should be specially placed on busy road sections, as well as in large shopping centers. Of course, we should not forget about increasing the number of bicycles and suitable paths for them. For example, between July and October, more than 250 Deloitte employees participated in the "Green Bike" initiative. Participants rode bicycles or used public transportation. This significantly reduced the emission of hydrocarbons into the atmosphere.

Hi Shirin,
This is Yuseon Mentor! :D
Wow what an interesting and informative report:=)
I found that I might be one of the people who are not aware of the fact that Green Vehicles need Green City first. I think you might be talking about battery charging station, and places where we could repair our EV. These kind of infra seems to be in a lacking state in the moment. Hope the Green City would be successfully formed that many could start using Green Vehicles as their automobile.
Thanks for sharing:)

Dear Shirin,
This is your mentor Debbie. :)
The phrase ¡°Partial purchase¡± was impressive for me. Although private transport is becoming greener, we need to realize that public transport is still a better option for the environment.
There are many ways we can approach environmental problems and we also need to know that transport is only one of them! Let??s try to make every single action something that??s pro-environment. :)
Green Cheers,
Debbie
