Green vehicles refer to automobiles in which measures have been taken to reduce carbon emissions produced from burning Fossil Fuels, making them eco-friendly to use. They are a growing need as carbon levels in our atmosphere continue to rise and global warming becomes more and more a threat with each passing day. There are two major types of green vehicles. Hybrid, and Electric. In hybrid vehicles, a dual engine system exists one which is powered is by combustion, and the other is a motor powered by electricity. Hybrid cars do not require charging and therefore, did not originally have a port. They get their electricity from alternating to the combustion engine when battery is low and by using regenerative braking. Regenerative breaking is a special process from which small amounts of electricity can be produced upon breaking the vehicle. They are safer to use then full combustion engines but are not zero-emission. They were the first attempt at making low emission vehicles and have been rather successful at it. Electric cars are those that are fully electronic and do not possess a combustion engine. They can either be powered by Hydrogen fuel cells or through charging. In standard electric cars like those being manufactured by Tesla, an electric motor runs the car with stored electricity. These cars require charging after a set amount of distance. Charging can be done at home or at charging stations that must be established similar to Petrol stations for our current vehicles. As new technologies are being introduced and batteries improve, the intervals between charges has increased substantially making it easier and more reliable for long distance travelling. In Fuel cell powered electric cars, Hydrogen is used as fuel and combined with Oxygen to make water. Electricity is produced in the process which is either stored or used to drive the vehicle. This is a zero-emission method of transport and is modern and highly beneficial to use. Similar technology is used in space travel to provide drinking water for astronauts during space travel.

Dear Arham,
This is your mentor Debbie. :)
Haha, I love how you are so eager that you have quite a few articles in a row to share with us xD I think more than EVs, fuel cell powered electric cars have a brighter future in the long run, because it is a zero-emission method. Thanks for sharing, Arham.
Best,
Debbie

Dear ARHAM,
This is your mentor Yuseon :D
A great explanation on green vehicles! I especially admired how you nicely compared the concept of standard electric cars and fuel-cell powered electric cars.
Keep up the good work in noticing the emerging electric car industry and how it contributes to making our world greener!
