The protection of the environment, people's living in a healthy natural environment and the efficient use of natural resources to improve the welfare of our people are part of the socio-economic reforms carried out in the country. Thanks to the attention paid by the country's leadership to environmental issues, a number of projects were implemented in 2019 to improve the environment, and measures were taken to address environmental problems. “Strategic roadmaps for the national economy and key sectors of the economy”, “Azerbaijan 2020: vision for the development concept”, “Transformation of our world: Agenda for sustainable development until 2030”, “Protection and sustainable use of biological diversity in the Republic of Azerbaijan 2017-2020 “National Strategy for 2018-2023”, “State Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023”, “National Strategy for Improving Solid Waste Management in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2018-2022”, “In the Republic of Azerbaijan Measures to reduce the negative impact of plastic packaging waste on the environment for 2019-2020 ”and other programs have been implemented. The main priorities of the Ministry are the use of advanced methods of waste management, including polyethylene and plastic packaging materials, rehabilitation of polluted areas, reduction of thermal gas emissions, protection of atmospheric air and expansion of clean transport, strengthening control of dangerous hydrometeorological events caused by climate change. , improvement of forecasting and early warning system, as well as monitoring and laboratory activities, protection of greenery, wastewater management, protection of the Caspian Sea from pollution, reduction of environmental impacts in the process of prospecting, exploration and production of natural resources, integrated management of water resources, including transboundary waters ,assessment of water resources, improvement of their state registration and ensuring efficient use of water.

So, this writing is based on your country, republic of Azerbaijan, right?
There seems to be so many attempts and national strategy related to environment, and that's great. Are the governments doing well on these strategies and roadmaps?

Yes, many different conversations are going on around the world in order to manage
wastes in much safer, efficient, and eco-friendly way. Research institutes are adapting
newest technology to analyze the efficiency, and find the solution. Different approaches
are being made, and some are being implemented. However, we are currently in the
period of transition and therefore, not seeing much of it around us. It would be first implemented on the test sites, selected from governments, and will spread around
those region. We are not sure when we would get to use the newest technology, and
get access to it, but one thing is sure. We should at least do something so we can
reduce our negative impact towards planet earth.
