Eco-Friendly Agriculture

Agriculture is becoming one of the reasons of Pollution and climate change. With the increase in the use of insecticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and other chemical substances in the agriculture to control the infestation of weeds and insect-pests and to increase the fertility of soil. But the use of these chemical substances in agriculture is increasing the soil pollution and water pollution as these chemicals mix in the water bodies making the water toxic for aquatic life.
But we can use the use of Eco-Friendly practices of agriculture to mitigate this. This includes the use of Bio-fertilizers and organic manures like FYM, vermicompost, green manures and oil cakes to increase the fertility of soil and for controlling the weeds bio-herbicides can be used and insects and pests the bio-insecticides and bio-pesticides can be used. These organic substances don't have harmful effects on environment as well on soil. Moreover they are also economically sound.  The organic Farmyard Manure can be made from farm organic waste and is sustainable approach.
Moreover on consuming the crops produced by the use of inorganic substances, there are harmful effects on health. With the use of excessive chemical fertilizers and pesticides the crops become toxic and there consumption causes various side effects and diseases. Hence, the concept of organic farming is also gaining popularity nowadays.
We should focus more on environment friendly approaches in agriculture as agriculture is the important part of economy of each and every nation directly or indirectly.

Hello Pragati, this is your mentor Hannah. Sorry for the late comment.

Yes, I remember reading an TUNZA article about organic manures.
Agriculture and air pollution(and climate change) interact with each other : one effects the other.
To add to your article, livestocks used in agriculture have huge impact on air pollution, because of gases they emit.
Thank you for your great article and please keep up with your wonderful work :)

    Sincerly,
    Hannah

Hello Pragati, this is your mentor Joon.

There are different approaches being mad in order to make agriculture eco-friendly. Even though agriculture seems not to harm nature, as most people think it is growing crops of nature, they have serious effects towards environment. This is especially due to usage of fertilizers, and contamination of groundwater due to pesticides. Therefore, just like your have mentioned, many tries to replace fertilizers and pesticides are being made. Hope any approach, which is highly efficient, is found so that we no longer harm nature.

    Well read your article.

    Best,

    Joon
