The issue of Urban Sprawl (November Free topic ) |

Urban sprawl The quick expansion of cities and towns caused by a large demand for living space in rapidly growing populations is referred to as urban sprawl while it may seem like a step towards development urban sprawl is directly linked to many environmental problems especially the ones associated with large dense populations. Urban sprawl increases pollution, energy use and traffic congestion and culturally it causes troubles such as loss of distinctiveness plus it leads to a destruction in wildlife especially in those areas where large Greenland has been cleared Ironically many people moved to such areas to to become closer to nature. While growth is good urban sprawl is a problem because it involves the unrestricted growth thus this growth is not able to be controlled and thus creates damages that are not easy to manage Urban sprawl also causes a lot of land degradation due to the mass cutting of trees to make way for housing as well as other various issues like collecting a lot of sand from sites to use in building materials this is especially apparent in third world countries where they use sand and cement as a primary building material. Urban sprawl is a never ending problem because third world countries are expanding at a very fast and uncontrollable rate plus due to capitalism most corners are cut and regulations are not strictly met thus the resulting destruction is huge. |

Hello Malewo, this is your mentor Hannah. Sorry for the late comment.
Yes, it would be best if population was equally distributed but it's such an ideal thought, right?
Relating to our November's topic Air pollution, we can just feel the polluted and populated environment by breathing in the city.
Thank you for your great article and please keep up with your wonderful work :)
Sincerly,
Hannah

Hello Malewo, this is your mentor Joon.
Urban Sprawl is also a result of human greediness. Even though many people moved to such areas to become closer to nature, they tend to desire convenient facilities that they have been using in urban areas. Following the demand, different facilities are built, and more people move on to the region as the level of life increased. This is a never ending problem just like you have mentioned. What should we do?
Well read your article.
Best,
Joon
